Cruz: I am confident majority of Trump supporters will join me if he doesn’t get nomination
Wayne Dupree ^ | 3/29/2016 | Wayne Dupree

Sen. Ted Cruz joined the Sean Hannity Show on Monday night where he covered a lot of ground in an extensive interview. Cruz was asked about the National Enquirer sex scandal allegations and he said “only one side has been firing,” while continuing to blame the Trump Campaign, though offering no proof. Cruz agreed that families of candidates should be off-limits.

Cruz was asked in the interview if he thinks Donald Trump supporters will unify around him if he takes the nomination at a contested GOP Convention. He didn’t immediately say they would but said he believed eventually many would unify with him.

if he takes the nomination at a contested GOP Convention

It could happen!

OK, I was going to spin some scenario where it could but... I got nothing.

Well as a Trump supporter, I would vote for Cruz if he is the nominee. My meme all along..Anybody but Hillary. Either candidate is worlds better than her. I think it’s a big if Ted C even makes it the month of April though. I just don’t know about the adultery stuff. In a public confession here on FR, I did have an adulterous affair with someone I met, this carried on for 9 months. I was not caught so a revelation of the affair did not cost me my marriage but the shame and disgust I felt for myself, and associated depression did. So I don’t judge Ted like someone else would here.

Here is the thing. Many Trump supporters will not vote for Cruz. But it won’t be because of his bimbi eruptions.

People still don’t seem to get it. There was always only two political outsiders in this race.

Trump and Carson. People behind Trump want the establishment replaced. They know we will lose our sovereignty and vote if the GOPe manages to foist one of theirs on us.

You see, it isn’t all about Trump, the man, never has been, it is a movement.

This isn’t an average election in the hearts and minds of these people.

The movement goes down and it is over because they will know the GOPe has won again and this last chance is over.

No way will people jump on board to actually vote for their demise because they know that is exactly what will happen.

Did Jim change the policy on Free Republic of kicking people off who refused to vote against Hillary?

If that means voting for Cruz, then ya might as well have me "kicked off" too.

Many who claim to be conservative/libertarian will help the true enemy in the general election

Not me. I'll vote for whoever can beat Hillary. If that's Cruz I vote for Cruz. Don't have a lot of confidence in Cruz's ability to win, but if he's the nominee he gets my vote. The same goes for Ryan, Romney, Bush, Kasich, Paul, Walker or Christie. Not that I expect any of them to be nominated. I still think Trump either gets the majority of delegates or makes a deal to flip enough to win.

It’s early calm down. Let’s see how Cruz gets the nomination first.

Thank you for your service. I will write-in Trump if not the nominee. The RNC and GopE can’t stop my vote. Cruz is not eligible and a known liar and major hypocrite. Major hypocrite. Bible thumper in name only. Heidi Cruz is no good either. Heidi and Ted are two peas in a pod. Awful people.

Nope, I will support the candidate who gets the most delegates in a fair and square way.

Never happen for me. There’s no difference between Hillary and establishment, our Republican majorities in House and Senate should have taught us that. Same crap, same speed, no difference.

This is the same arrogance that lost him many states in the South. He takes people for granted because don’t you know how special he is.....Well Ted will you tell your supporters to support Trump if Donald is the nominee?????

Arrogance, not confidence. They support Trump because they don’t care for Canadian Cruz.

If Trump doesn’t get the delegates, it’s because the GOPe colluded with the other candidates to prevent it.

The GOPe is the opposition. They have allowed Obama to do everything he wanted.

Think I’m going to vote for another of their operatives?

Schafly endorsed Trump. The foundation that is run by DeMint endorsed Cruz.

Sounds to me like either would be a good candidate. So why are we fighting here? Basically, the conservative movement has ruptured and will never be the same. Just the way the rats and the establishment wanted it.

It’s sad, but in a way funny to watch. They keep poking Trump and Trump goes after Cruz, who is the only other candidate who like Trump hates the establishment. If Trump and Cruz got together and pledged their support for each other, this whole “steal the nomination from Trump” would go away since together they have 90% of the delegates.

Instead, like always, we are stealing defeat from the jaws of victory, then will spend the next 4 years blaming someone else for our own misplaced self righteousness. The only person who has it right is Our own leader, Jim. Either of these candidate should be President and we need to stop the infighting. But No.

I can tell you today what is going to happen. Trump won’t get 1237, both Cruz and Trump will be passed over for a Kacish/Rubio ticket, we will stay home, Hillary will win and we will spend the next 8 years blaming everyone else but ourselves. Especially when Trump/Cruz ticket was a guaranteed win and instead of embracing it, we picked a fight with ourselves.

One last thing, if that scenario happens, we can kiss FR goodbye because more than likely it will be a rat executive, legislative and judiciary and every law that protects we the people will be turned on its head, including the second amendment.

Won’t get mine. Nor will any GOP candidate. I would want to see the party obliterated.

Cruz is full of it. He will never get the majority of Mr. Trumps supporters to vote for him.

Sad to see that it's starting to look more and more like the establishment will do anything necessary to install Clinton as the next POTUS.

The country needs a Civil War, IMO, but it won't happen as too many patriots are too comfortable with the status quo.
