https://www.richardhornsby.com/crimes/battery/#Misdemeanor-Battery

Under Florida Statute 784.03, the crime of misdemeanor battery is committed when a person either:

Intentionally touches or strikes another person against their will; or

Intentionally causes bodily harm to another person.

As you can see, a battery can occur from something minor, such as grabbing another person’s arm; or a battery could also occur by throwing something that strikes another person.

Importantly though, when it comes to touching or striking a person, there is no requirement that the person be injured - the non-consensual contact is sufficient.

You would be surprised...

Had a friend get in a crapton of trouble for grabbing an ex girlfriend like that (no bruises) to keep her from walking away. Even though he released her almost immediately he was charged with several things including illegally detaining her.
He got a misdemeanor assault on his record and like 20 hours of community service.

That was over twenty years ago.

It looks to me like he was right with Trump and she got between them and he pulled her back to get around her. It certainly seemed light to me. Some one posted she fell down after the video. I don’t know how they know that and it would have been a flop since this shows him walking past her and she’s standing up.

This is a warning shot across the bow. If Trump wins the nomination and becomes a serious threat to Hillary, Justice will charge him with something. Going through tax returns and claiming fraud for various deductions would be an easy target, or perhaps they could charge him with attempted bribery for buying lunch for some mayor he may have met with while discussing a hotel project or something. The possibilities are endless.

“I spoke to an attorney about it. Did you?”

I wasn’t confused about what is assault, and what isn’t.

I am guilty of that . Time to turn myself in, but since my kids are all grown up, a statute of limitations might apply.

It really looks like be pulled on her sweater, and she keeps walking along normally after.

The idea that this would be an assault that anyone would prosecute is very tenuous.

Being in that situation there is every expectation someone may pull you away from the candidate. Further, no professional would have pursued this as a crime.

Reporters get shoved etc all the time, they report it they don’t file criminal complaints.

Nice try to take this thread away from the stated topic of Donald Trump's top man, somebody he chose, being ARRESTED. Never ever heard of that in a campaign ever :-)

I think the difference in this case is he is an A-hole and refused to apologize to her.
