I will admit I have given money to Rand. He’s nuts on some issues but Drones and security I do listen to him. His father has A LOT of backers.

As recently as early January, Rand Paul was pulling no punches about his dislike for Ted Cruz:
Senator Rand Paul joined Chuck Todd on MTP, and expressed his displeasure at Senator Ted Cruz for stealing his foreign policy ideas.
TODD: You said, “I resolve to spend less time voting in the Senate so Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz don’t look so bad.” Then you said this about Ted Cruz, “I resolve to give Ted Cruz more lead time before I announce my policy positions so he can replicate them faster.” So you believe that basically he steals all your ideas?
SEN. RAND PAUL: Well, you know, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And I think on foreign policy, he started talking about regime change being a bad idea, toppling secular dictators being a bad idea. And I think I’ve been the leader on that issue and I continue to. And it’s an important voice.
He also blasted Cruz for he way he conducts himself in Congress - acting like a jackass in the Senate for all his personal attacks against GOP leader Mitch McConnell and other members.
I can’t see him running as an independent. He will probably endorse Cruz. Cruz has been stroking the libertarian vote. But frankly I’m surprised to see him endorse anyone so this is a major coup for whoever gets it.
He and Trump are on the same page about the war in Iraq. The only two Republicans who hold that position. That was a big thing with Rand Paul. Their foreign policy is very similar.

Endorsing Cruz, I have heard
KY went big time for Trump. Lets see if he listened to the people who will be voting for him to return to senate or buck their decision

I like Rand Paul a lot, but if he’s guing to remain relevant he better not endorse creepy Cruz. Early on, just before the election cycle started, he wws on my list of votes, I even gave him (in a series of donations) a $1,000 dollars with the thought of him as a valued participant in the debates and dialog, especially regarding the discussions of Iraq as well as gun cuntrol and the budget and the debt.
But soon I picked Trump and stayed with him all the way, including donations et all, and at this juncture I totally despise Cruz. In fact I despise Cruz so much at this point, I would vote for any other Republican in the general including Kasich with strong reservations, but I will never vote for Cruz. Never.
I am staying with Trump all the way. In fact, I would like to see Cruz exposed, hopefully sooner.
So, just sayin, if Rand Paul endorses Cruz, he is off my list permanently. I noticed I got a couple of emails from him on behalf of the RNC - did any of you? I found it surprising, actually. I hope Paul endorses Trump. If it’s Cruz, Rand will never get another dime from me.
I actually like Rand Paul. I just didn’t see him with any chance to be President. He’s a good senator. I will fall over in shock if he endorses Trump. Likely Cruz.
How irrelevant must a politician be if he has to issue a press release to announce that he will endorse someone - later? Has the public been on the edge of its collective seat asking “Who will Rand endorse”?
