NYT: Donald Trump, RNC leaders discuss Louisiana delegates

GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump met with leaders from the Republican National Committee this week and reportedly hashed out his concerns over delegate distribution, particularly in Louisiana.

Trump has spent the past week raising issue over Louisiana’s delegates because, while he won the state’s GOP primary March 5, he could get fewer GOP delegates from than second-place finisher U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz through political maneuvering.

The New York Times reports that Trump and RNC leaders met Thursday to clear the air, with RNC chairman Reince Priebus explaining that each campaign had to fight for delegates at each state’s convention.

Trump’s supporters are new to the game and didn’t know they needed to be at precinct meetings to lock up the remaining delegates in the event that there’s a contested convention. This is what happens when you are out-thought, out-organized, and out-hustled. Can’t blame anyone but Trump and his ground game for this.

“RNC chairman Reince Priebus explaining that each campaign had to fight for delegates at each state’s convention.”

What ever happened to we the people choosing the delegates? I see some of the Cruzbots like the back room dealing.

You cannot steal something that does not belong to another and which can be garnered by negotiation.....all delegates bound by votes were distributed in accordance with the voters’ will.

Those unbound and subject to gathering up via rules driven negotiations were garnered by the candidate who knew and followed the rules to his advantage

Throwing a pacifier on the floor does not change the truth.

The purpose is not defined by the means. A conspiracy can be taking wholly legal steps to achieve an improper purpose.

None of what Cruz’s team did was a lie or a deception, the rules are the rules and nobody’s hiding them. The same thing happened in Georgia. Not anybody’s fault Trump’s team didn’t know the rules.

“Yep. Not knowing, or not organizing, or not being able to build state and local organizations. Or some combination of the three.”

Then again, the democratic position is to always blame it on someone else. NEVER, ever take personal responsibility

-- Our votes are worthless? --

The point of giving people the vote is to keep them passive. That is hardly "worthless."

>>A conspiracy can be taking wholly legal steps to achieve an improper purpose.

It’s a conspiracy to gain delegates to win the nomination - by following the published rules that determine who gets delegates.

Each campaign is involved in their own conspiracy.

Indeed. They’d be screaming like a scorned mistress, if these delegates were being cheaTED from St Raphael.

Blame it on whatever. It’s Trump and his team’s fault for not knowing.

It's not a matter of knowing. It's a matter of pointing out that politics as usual has no place for actually voting for a nominee. It all has to do with who the party ESTABLISHMENT wants the nominee to be. And they don't want Trump. They don't want Cruz and he knows it yet he's content to help the establishment try and deny Trump. That speaks volumes about what Cruz values...party and ambition over anything else.

When the will of the people has been ignored and he elite, and communists, decides what is best for us, America if finished. A good example is where we are now.

Trump for President. He will never make it because of the corrupt GOP. America is being destroyed.

-- He can claim that politicians are subverting the clearly expressed desires of the voters. The other side can claim that the rules allow them to finagle and steal delegates. --

Old age and treachery beats youth and inexperience.

--Who do you think will win that one? --

Winning is winning, and if it takes cheating to win, you still win. Not saying anybody is cheating, just that the ends justify the means. Anybody who acts otherwise is naive; and anybody who admits they are cheating is stupid. Cheat, but deny it. That is how to win.

Trump needs to get just as dirty as his opponents, maybe even more so, but do it in a way that allows him the benefit of plausible deniability. He knows this. What he is learning is his way around the political industry.

voting just a scam put forth by the oligarchy similar to the “votes” in Russia. We need this to end.

We don’t need no stink’in rules. Let’s have mob rule. May the biggest mob win!
While we are at it, make sure we apologize to Al Gore and the Democrats, after all, GW stole the election from Gore. Gore had more votes, after all.

They are responsible for not knowing any already written rules.

They are not responsible for not knowing if rules violations are being permitted.

Oh~ to be a fly on THAT wall. :-))

Trump is showing far more patience than ANY MAN I’ve ever met. Does this make him less of a man; or does it make him a man of wisdom and a gaining of knowledge acquired before making a decision? It’s pertinent, you see. Nonetheless, most men will never stop to ask for directions, continuing down the same path until everyone is lost and not a clue of where they might be going or from whence the came.

GO TRUMP!~
