The Democrats are succeeding in destroying what is by far the best health care system in the history of the world.

Huh? U.S. health care ranks near the bottom in most studies. All American doctors do is treat symptoms, not root problems. I've heard that European doctors tend to have a more holistic approach.

And Obamacare is only going to make everything worse.

A case study in the quality of the current state of European health care as exemplified of the British NHS

Mercola is not a reputable source. The guy is a kook who misuses his medical training to bamboozle people and gets rich by selling worthless “supplements.”

If you are genuinely sick, go see a licensed physician or PA. If you are not sick, you should not be taking “supplements” that some quack promises have pharmaceutical qualities. “Supplements” that do not have active ingredients are a useless waste of money. “Supplements” that do contain pharmaceutically active chemicals are dangerous. If you take them without having a diagnosed condition, you can damage your body. Furthermore, since “supplements” are unregulated, they contain variable quantities of pharmaceutically active chemicals, ranging from too low to have an effect to high enough to be toxic.

Clinton Seeks to Regulate Medical Specialties
By ROBERT PEAR,
Published: September 15, 1993

WASHINGTON, Sept. 14— In an effort to create more family doctors, President Clinton’s health plan would empower the Federal Government to decide how many doctors should be trained each year as family practitioners, radiologists, surgeons, neurologists and other specialists.

The proposal is provoking intense debate among medical educators and other experts.

It would establish Federal regulation in a field now governed by the choices of medical students and teaching hospitals. If Congress approves, the Clinton Administration would sharply reduce the number of specialists and increase the number of general-practice doctors.... -http://www.nytimes.com/1993/09/15/us/clinton-seeks-to-regulate-medical-specialties.html

In the early 70's, I crewed on an ocean racing sailboat with my son's Pediatrician and a young Orthopedic Surgeon who wanted to start his own practice with a couple of friends (we won most of or races!).

Anyways, he put together a loan and with two friends, built their practice. the three of them spent more than a $million to build the facility, then another $2million to equip and staff it. But, the real bugaboo was the annual malpractice insurance cost of $1.5 million to start. It increased annually.

There are plenty of claims against many doctors, but they had none. Yet, the MI costs went up exponentially. He retired at 52!

Being a good doctor is not enough!

totally treasonous, and Islamic-terrorist submissive party

The AMA limits medical student slots in US to keep demand high. And since they now have almost half women, who usually go into less demanding fields, there are lots of disciplines that will have little fulfillment. So we will use overseas doctors instead.

Seems everyone in the medical biz is doing well except for the doctors.

“I said: thank you dear.”

Take it from someone happily married to the same beautiful woman for over 30 years.

That is always a wise reply.

STFU bitch sometimes works too.

and open up a bunch of new medical schools and actively recruit students into the profession over the last 30-40 years

Yeah. Apparently the States rely on them for estimates on needed doctors for medical school appropriations; they conducted a decades long campaign of limiting the number of doctors. Kids with 3.75 GPAs and decent MCATS could not get in; the reality is that the previous generation of docs were guys with gentleman's C's and good family names. You don't have to be a genius to be a GP; in fact, it's a detriment: smart people can't do that all day long. They'd go bonkers.

So now we're told that Pakistan and India produce Wonderful Docs. The reality is that they are far worse then the Just-OK docs we would have had if we had doubled the number of medical schools along with the population growth between 1970-2000.
