Will (Romanian hacker) Guccifer Upend Hillary?
PJ Media ^ | April 8, 2016 | Roger L Simon

After several years of incarceration in his native Romania, Marcel Lazar Lehel, aka Guccifer, has finally arrived this week in Alexandria, Virginia, to face nine charges of computer hacking. Guccifer, it will be recalled, is the one who revealed the presence of Hillary Clinton's private server through his hacking of Sidney Blumenthal's email account.

Catherine Herridge and Pamela K. Browne of Fox point out the interesting timing of his extradition:

Romanian media have reported the [FBI] request came on or about Dec. 29, 2015. That would have been shortly after the intelligence community's identification of emails beyond "top secret" on Clinton's personal server, which became public in mid-January.

The extradition of Lehel may be tied in closely to the unraveling of the Hillary email conundrum. He claims to have secreted as yet undisclosed Clinton documents "in the cloud." He recalls having spent hours reading them and then going "gardening."

Guccifer ... extradited in haste ... went gardening in the cloud ... read documents beyond top secret ... may have information on messages deleted by the Cankles ... no reason for Her Highness to worry!

"He recalls having spent hours reading them and then going "gardening."

If an amateur could get casual access to her unsecured email, imagine what a foreign adversary professional could have accomplished.

I don’t think you can call this guy an amateur!

I do not think Hillry has any 'foreign' adversaries... Her super secret server was by design to be hidden from US... Hillry was very short sighted in her quest for cash. Obviously, she was not one bit concerned over the NSA tracking her private business.

And since he saved everything to cloud and has already agreed to turn the materials over to US authority at the proper time, he should not only receive an immune agreement but a sizeable award !

He actually didn’t hack. He followed email lists and guessed or found answers to security questions thereby gaining access

That’s interesting. So what’s illegal about what he did?

He illegally enter another persons account. Probably will end up a misdemeanor But his lifelong goal of coming to US may be worth it.
No doubt the man is a genius. And a bit quirky

I think part of the problem in bringing him to the US is that US laws would be applicable but unless he hacked into a US government server (maybe he did)....there’s just not much you can do to the guy. Maybe there’s some cash transaction business....use of someone’s credit card numbers....etc.

The one thing you could gain from Guccifer’s value as a witness...is the ease of which he got to Hillary’s private server account and all that classified just sitting there. If I were looking for a slam-dunk in a court-room....this guy gives it.

Certainly not an amateur, but neither did he have the resources of a nation-state or even a well-funded terrorist organization as backing for his efforts.

I suspect the same may be visited upon Hillary given her betrayal of our intelligence services. She’s also at risk given the exposure of her connection to the Kremlin. I have to believe her phone conversations are being recorded by the NSA given what happened with Blumenthal.

There’s lots of spec ops vets out there who have the training to handle something like that even with the SS in attendance.

“Guccifer ... may have information on messages deleted by the Cankles”

Remember, none of those “deleted” messages really disappears, the FBI already has them.

They must prove that she actually did damage the US security. Which she did.

Most do not know that Guccifer was interviewed soon after his incarceration in Romania. That means the email investigation may have been in progress for two years. That also explains the corruption investigation since once the FBI knew about the emails those may have exposed some information Hillary never thought would see the light of day.

I am not a cop and do not play a cop on TV but note that on NCIS and CSI a person can be detained as a material witness.

Perhaps Guccifer is cooling his heals as a material witness. His efforts and testimony are germane to the case along with his evidence

Guccifer has already been indicted here. You are exactly on target. The agreement with Romania says after 18 months he’s to be returned to Romania to continue serving his prison sentence. That screams witness.

There is a reason the Judge says - Call Your first witness!

Criminal cases are based on evidence. Evidence to be reviewed by the jury only get in through witnesses. Even exhibits are admitted upon witness testimony. Witness for the prosecution!
