I’m embarrassed to check out John Springer’s obit only to be reminded that he was a press agent, not a manager. It’s been several years now and he’s sadly long gone. A wonderful, kind man who was friend to so many old Hollywood stars...

I heard Rush for a short time on the car radio and he seemed to have gone completely off the rails about the sound going off during the Cruz speech at the GOP affair last night. Accusing FOX of involvement in sabotaging Cruz, along with whoever else he could think of. Said deep tentacles reaching everywhere to attack Cruz. Relieved when we reached destination and off of Rush. Ted Cruz does not deserve sympathy for payback, if that is the case. Rush has more than compensated for whatever hit Cruz took from the bad sound reception whether it was a genuine failure or intentional. Ted Cruz and team must realize that payback is inevitable when messing with smarter and stronger people than themselves.

He sounds different. Sick maybe? He’s not himself.

I agree. Something not right. Rush is overreacting. Maybe he is too close to a candidate to be objective and needs a break from the stress.

Wow, lady...you got it bad. Once you start with the ad hominem attacks, that means you’ve lost the argument, lol.

I’ve never listened to her show; I’ll have to try it.

Yes, the Brill building is or was home to music managers and agents. Its on the west side. For a short time I worked for John Springer and Associates (the manager for Liz and Dick) because my dear friend Mr. Springer, who had retired, wanted me to. I lasted all of two weeks because of an evil agent named Candy!!! Wow, interesting!
This may bring back some memories for you:

I'm sure you know far more about NYC real estate than I do, but it appears that the reason most of the great old restaurants and stores in the Times Square area were forced out of business was because of greedy landlords. (?)
If you're interested: HBO's new series "Vinyl" is a good, but rather crude show, very funny at times. One of its stars is Ray Romano. Another star is Fox News' contributor Bo Dietl, former NYPD detective. Lots of sex, drugs and rock 'n roll in 1970s NYC.

Well, I don’t know about Times Square restaurants. I guess some of them were forced out and some remained. Just recently, though, the great Frankie and Johnnie’s was forced out by the landlords of its original location up a flight of stairs and is now in a cold environment that just doesn’t capture the original. But Sardi’s is still there! I just hate the Disney stores and the giant candy stores and the lousy shops selling bad tourist stuff.

I actually made a mistake saying "Time Square area restaurants". I meant the restaurants and stores (ie Jack Dempsey's bar and Colony Records) in the Brill Building, which (as you know) is on Broadway, a few blocks away from Times Square.
That's horrible news about Frankie and Johnnie's. From what I read it was "the steakhouse that started as a speakeasy in 1926". More greedy landlords, I guess. Or maybe landlords that are doing their best to survive in expensive NYC?
I'm glad to know Sardi's is still there. I thought it was in danger of going out of business several years ago... or was that the Russian Tea Room?
I just hate the Disney stores and the giant candy stores and the lousy shops selling bad tourist stuff.
Ugh... You and me both! That garbage belongs in suburban shopping malls and Las Vegas. Not New York!
