Could Trump Be Impeached Shortly After He Takes Office?

It's highly improbable, but law scholars and political junkies are speculating about it.

He’d first need to commit a “high crime [or] misdemeanor.”

Also, if Obama can pull the crud he’s pulled with his executive orders and not get impeached I think Trump would have to literally choke someone to death in the street to get impeached.

What is all this talk of impeachment of a President? It has been demonstrated that this is an especially ineffective strategy to remove an incompetent or an outright criminal President from the Oval Office.

Impeachment would work just fine for Supreme Court or other Federal justices, just as it works on removing recalcitrant legislators from the House of Representatives or the Senate.

But it seems the legislative branch is a little paralyzed when it comes to actual removal of a President from office, though it does seem to work with Cabinet level officials, when the Chief Executive cannot or will not take the necessary action of firing or “accepting the resignation” of the failed official. There is also the possibility of nullifying any action by the President at the legislative or judicial levels, but this is, surprisingly enough, rarely used since about the time of Richard Nixon.

And never against a Democrat President. But most often, that was because the Democrat President was also supported by a relatively weak Congress and compliant judiciary.

My GOD - we’ve been living for almost 8 years under Imperial Obama - General of America and suddenly the elitists are finding their backbone and all upset because Trump believes in America?

F’em.

It’s time to put a stop to this and shut down all commerce - a few days of no spending at target and wal-mart, cutting cable and Internet and let’s see how well these guys respond to real pressure.

National boycott.

If the Republicans in the House impeached Trump after letting Obama skate for six years. The carnage at the next election would be unfathomable. It might even seep outside of the election whether we liked it or not.

Since he’s never gonna be president, I wouldn’t spend much time worrying about impeachment.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
I read as just the opposite.

The Dems and GOPe are virtually saying - well he is going to win anyway BUT we can do something about it.

That is a perfect example of living rent free in a whole groups head.

As to MplsSteve and myself—

We are at the glass half full or half empty stage where we don’t even need a glass or anything to put in it.

“A congress that would not impeach Obama would never impeach anyone!”

It’s difficult to predict what could happen in a country that God has turned over to Satan. As Ruth Graham said, if God doesn’t destroy America, He has some apologies to make to Sodom and Gomorrah.

Wow, I never thought about what a Trump Presidential Library would look like, but I’m sure it would be amazing.

If you want to worry about something, worry about the probable rather than the theoretically possible.

Under the 20th Amendment, the new Congress takes office on January 3 and the new President does not take office until January 20.

That means that if the Democrats retake control of the Senate (which looks likely at this point), then regardless of who gets elected the next President, Senate Majority Leader Chuckie Schumer will have almost three weeks to easily push through confirmation of every single Obama nominee, from the Supreme Court to the district courts and all the federal agencies. There will not be a damned thing that the Senate minority Republicans can do to stop it.

Liberal Florida Rep. Alan Grayson

is the James Trafficant of our era, except that he espouses hard leftist views, so he will never get in any trouble.

Shouldn’t he have to do something first to warrant impeachment?

This is a really strange article
