You have been a staunch supporter of the constitution, conservative values, and stood (many times alone) against a GOP Establishment that has not kept faith with the conservative base of the party who electe them.

That is an error filled statement. Even though we are told free trade is a conservative value - it is not. The Founding Fathers were for tariffs and the Republican party was for tariffs as well - the Southern Democrats wanted free trade.

I can not and will not stand by and allow conservative to include the policy of internationalist free trade. That to me is a deal breaker.

I suspect you will get your wish. I suspect Cruz will drop out before the convention and will allow Trump a clear path to November.

Where he will lose againt Hillary.

Trump is just our current RINO. Just like McCain and Romney - he is just the latest loser to send up against the Democrats.

The trump people are always calling for everybody to drop out so their guy can win. Why don’t we just let the process work? Are you afraid you can’t win a fair fight?

Why didn’t Senator Cruz challenge Mitch McConnell for the Senate Leadership two years ago? If he’s so good at fighting the GOPe?

I am not a TRUMP fan. I have been...and still am...a Cruz supporter.

But my first allegiance and concern is the nation. A raucus, ugly convention fight will split the party and lead to a defeat we can ill afford.

Well said Jeff and I join your request/plea to quit the race especially about how the GOPe is using him to stop Trump and YES they will shaft him for one of 'their' choosing.

Senator Cruz for the SCOTUS!

My open letter to Ted:

Ted, I never liked you. I’ve always seen you as someone who is scripted, rehearsed and inauthentic. Like an actor in a play in which you play the part of a christian conservative.

But none of this matters now. You lost. It’s over. Get out. The scheme you are running to swindle delegates will destroy your political career and might put you in jail. Just go, Ted. Get a real job and try again in 8 years.

Sincerely,

I'm still not getting why Cruz should bow out when he is mathematically eliminated from a first ballot victory, but that Trump should not bow out when he is mathematically eliminated from a first ballot victory.

I say let it play itself out. That's what the delegates are there for. The premise that a convention fight would automatically result in a Clinton victory in November is asinine.

When Trump chooses a non-conservative VP soon, all the swooners on FR will again find a way to support their hunky bad boy’s pick. Look forward to watching the gyrations.

Apparently more than 50% of the Republican voters in the Texas primary didn’t understand, either.

Reagan had to choose Bush.

Cruz may have to choose Trump. So what.

I believe it very possible, perhaps even likely, that he will get to the delegates necessary before the convention in any case.

Then you've got nothing to worry about with Cruz continuing his campaign.
