Ted Cruz Blows Wisconsin Momentum In Big Apple Blowout
The Daily Caller ^ | 04/20/2016 | MATT K. LEWIS

Posted on 04/20/2016 4:59:10 PM PDT by MaxistheBest

Jamie Weinstein makes the valid point that Donald Trump’s New York victory wasn’t a surprise. We all saw it was coming, and—in regards to predicting whether Trump can collect the 1,237 delegates he needs—the results were baked into the cake. States like Indiana and California are much more important, inasmuch as they are the known unknowns.

What I think is remarkable, however, is that Ted Cruz picked up zero delegates in the state, and actually performed much worse than John Kasich. This is not important in terms of mathematically stopping Trump (had Cruz picked up a dozen delegates and come in second, it likely wouldn’t have been dispositive). But it would have cemented Cruz’s position as the man to turn to should we get to Cleveland without a nominee.

The groundwork for Kasich is being laid.

There was NEVER any Wisconsin momentum.

Unlike most on here, I believe the polls, within 5 percent most of the time.

The Northeastern state polls NEVER BUDGED for Cruz after Wisconsin. It was all nonsense.

That’s just a fact. No poll showed a bounce in the northeastern states after Wisconsin.

Just something for media to print.

Leave us not talk about the 1 million 300,000 democrats vs the combined total of 800,000 republicans. Or the 27,000 more votes Cruz got in Wisconsin than Trump got in New York.

This New York thing is silly. Trump also got half the votes of Hillary. It must be those New York values people are talking about.

Not really sure what, if any, point you’re making.

Damn ####ing straight!!

I love NYC. Theater. Museums. Majestic buildings. Every kind of food two blocks away. Too many beautiful women to count.

I miss my 30s working the 3pm to 3am shift, then just walking the streets with a cold one and having the city mostly to myself.

Cruz supporters are politicians in their own right the way they manipulate numbers to try and make Cruz look like a winner.

Sad to say it still doesn’t work.

That's because they live and breathe in their echo chamber. When they walk among others they can't understand why no one comes to the same conclusions they do.

You go on torturing the data. What Cruzlims can't seem to get through their heads is any point they can make exalting Cruz can be even more convincingly made about Trump with little more than an arbitrary change of the cherry-picked elements they're using to inflate Ted's chances.

There is no Criuz nomination on any number of votes.

Next Tuesday will be another round of losses for Ted and a few more 3rd place finished behind Kasich.

The party, no matter how much some of the elites hate Trump will never hand the nomination to someone who’s only win west of the Mississippi is ME, and is coming in third place in home stretch.

The voters have summarily rejected him writ large, anyone thinking Cruz will be the nominee is living in a land of self delusion.
