The Donald Trump Effect: Not a Politician and Dominating on ImmigrationPoll of Colorado likely R-Vot
Magellan Strategies ^ | By David Flaherty | April 20th, 2016 | By David Flaherty

Here at Magellan Strategies we strive to generate research projects that are not only interesting, but more importantly are relevant to our clients. For our clients here in Colorado, there is very little public research focused on how likely Republican Primary voters view the race for the Republican Presidential nomination. For our clients around the country, there is a lack of public research that attempts to truly understand the factors that are motivating Republican Primary voters to support Donald Trump.

We decided to fill both voids at once by fielding a 609n automated survey (April 5th-6th) of likely Republican Primary voters in Colorado.

snip... Below are two key findings on the race for the Republican Presidential nomination among Colorado Republicans:

Republican Primary Voters Prefer Donald Trump Over Ted Cruz

If a Republican Presidential Primary Election were to take place in Colorado, 44% of likely voters would vote for Donald Trump, 34% support Ted Cruz, 17% support John Kasich and 5% are undecided. When asked to choose between only Ted Cruz or Donald Trump, 48% support Trump and 42% support Cruz, and 10% are undecided. These results are interesting in light of the results at the Republican State Convention where Ted Cruz won all 34 delegates awarded. What the results show is a potential disconnect between the more dedicated group of delegates who participated in the state convention and the far broader group of 350,000 to 400,000 Republicans who would typically vote in a primary election.

Yes Donald, Colorado Did Vote…On March 1st

And yet - indications are that the people of Colorado would go Trump by 10 percentage points....Funny how a State can vote to override its People - gives new twists to the 10th Amendment.....

Perhaps she’s living at Carl Rove’s house, ya think, or with Glenn Beck?

Hypothetical? Is that what we are down to now?

The hypothetical is the primary that Colorado will never have. The voters are Republican voters, not hypothetical voters.

If the people really want Trump he will win

That would have happened in Colorado, if Trump's 10 point lead in this poll was true, if they had allowed a vote.

The mod last night must have been a Cruzer, because he gave me hell over these threads. Deleted 2 of them over the titles. Then he even screwed up the title for this thread by removing the brackets for no good reason. Even took it off Frontpage where polls normally go.

“If the people really want Trump he will win.”

What do you mean IF? Trump HAS WON! No if’s about it!

Just keep this Colorado delegate theft in the minds of the People. That'll do you a lot of good.

As Magellan demonstrated, the delegate allocation in Colorado bears no resemblance to the actual preference of the rank-and-file GOP voters.

So, yipdedoo, congratulations, Ted Cruz, for your "big win" in CO.

No wonder Cruz has collapsed in the polls...

Vote Trump

“What do you mean IF? Trump HAS WON! No if’s about it!”

I don’t think so. When did he win. I haven’t heard any
announcement that he has won. There hasn’t even been
a convention yet. What planet are you on?

“The voters are Republican voters, not hypothetical voters.”

But a Republican Trump is. When did they change the rules
in Colorado? Were the changes specifically changed against
him? Exactly where was Trump cheated?

All this bickering over a northeastern moderate.

All this bickering over a northeastern moderate.

Well, people tend to get pissed off when they don't get to vote. Most presidential nomination fights are over before they even get to Colorado, like Bush in March, Romney not long after Florida.

“What planet are you on?”

The “Planet” calle Reality. No one wants sCruze, and I prefer to think that now that the MSM is calling Trump the “presumptive nominee,” that what little real suport for sCruze that remains, will be evaporating, starting next Tuesday. But you can go on believing that Black is White, it’s a free country!
