Tuesday on CNN’s “The Lead,” when asked about Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s convention manager Paul Manafort’s comments last week at a Republican National Committee meeting saying that Trump is playing a “part,” Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said the comments meant Trump tailors his messaging based on crowd size, but added “Donald Trump will never change.”
Lewandowski said, “What you have, as you know, Mr. Trump—when he goes to an event, he speaks to massive crowds and wants to make sure they understand what his message is. His messaging in large crowds is tailor made to that large crowd. In a small audience, as you would anybody else, a different way that you speak to people in a smaller crowd. That’s what Paul was trying to get across.

The false Politico story echoed all over the news and interweb...even to the point of being addressed by Chuck Todd and Katy Tur on MTP yesterday afternoon.
I like him just the way he is.
Trump is where he is because he was and is genuine. Fault him or not for this actual thoughts and what he has said (or not), but his manner was worth all the PAC money, consultants, image remodelers, PR wonks, pundits the establishment candidate gathers along the way to becoming ‘genuine’.
Why then, would one expect him to change? Another country? Some hoser who thinks he’s not ‘presidential?’
We all play roles in life especially if you are in business. And when I make speeches, it’s not even the same tone as when I’m at a Birthday party for my grandchild. We are multifaceted....but it’s not a change....it’s addressing a particular “audience”.
In just TWO WEEKS he totally turned around the ground game for delegates.
LOL! Did you by any chance make fun of Trump when one of his managers said he would try to put on a nicer face (before he said the wouldn't go the soft/squishy route)?
And then ignore it when Cruz said he would make attempts to be more likable? One of the reasons Cruz has tanked so fast is because he has demonstrated that he is not who and what he has been promoting himself as - people don't like or trust the changes in him.
Trump is who he is and won't fake being someone else to kiss some voters arse - Cruz is on his knees in front of the GOPe and other right now trying to usurp Trump via "tricks".....

Yep. It was a ridiculous story. But Politico ran with it...and others repeated the story line.
The liberals have always pushed the narrative that Republicans need to move to the center in order to win elections, and are acting surprised that Trump knows better than to take their advice.
Corey speaks da troof. Manafort didn’t get demoted or anything else, anyone saying this doesn’t understand national elections or has an agenda. Manafort’s Trump will be on FULL display today at his foreign policy speech. It’s going to be YUGE!
Does anyone know the time of the speech and any links to it? Maybe it will be on the same time as Rush?
The media is going to try like hell to trip him up from here on. I hope he stays away from “touchy, no win subjects” like abortion and “women’s issues”.

I don’t understand why the media is so confused by all of this. If I’m going to my Mother-in-Law’s house for Christmas dinner, I act differently than I do when I’m with my college buddies at a beach house for vacation. All NORMAL people have different behaviors in different circumstances. If Trump was “Presidential” all the time, he would be Romney. YAWN.
