Well then there is the difference, it wasn’t said in derogatory terms. Subhuman in this sense is being used in a positive way to indicate that even with pain he continued to play.

A term that would get any White person fired for asking that of a black football player.

I hate this “gotcha” nonsense, I have been so glad to see Trump not play into it, and beat it back every time its been played. When someone says something that has clear intent, I am find calling them on it... but something like this, where someone clearly mispoke and its obvious from the context they misspoke, that’s not the end of the world... regardless of which side of the political spectrum they live on and its insane for folks on both sides for trying to turn them into massive incidents.
