Russia, India Strengthen Ties With War Games

Russia and India have agreed to hold joint war games involving all military branches this year. The agreement was signed in Vladivostok, with further details scheduled to be discussed next month.

Consultations on the biggest of the three drills, Indra-2016, will be held in May, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry’s Eastern Military District’s press service said on Thursday.

“A joint protocol was signed in Vladivostok to hold the first planning conference for the Indra-2016 joint exercises,” Captain Roman Martov said, as cited by RIA Novosti.

The two sides will set the exact dates and organizational details of the training.

So much for the rapprochement Bush did. India realizes Obama is useless.

With women leading our troops into battle, the Russians and Indians have one more thing in common - laughter.

Russia has historically provided India with a LOT of the armament.

over the last few years with the C-17s, the C0130Js, the Apache helicopters, and several other purchases this is changing.

But they still have a LOT of Russian hardware and train with the Russians regularly.

The US made a conscience decision to poney up to and ally with Pakistan and this ensured that the Indian would go to Russia back then.

Now things are changing and I hope they continue to do so. we have regular naval exercises with the Indians now. They will be training with US forces on those other purchases.

The more of that...the better.

The Indians have a deep mistrust for the Chinese. Russia lately has been doing more exercises with the PRC too...which is helping drive more Indian purchases and deals to the west.

Our foreign policy/state department is led by the peanut gallery. India has far more in common with us and we have many common interests with them over the religious limb cutting zealots of Pakistan.

All it takes is a few of them to fall POW and maybe the higher ups will “get it”?

Maybe not....

As a consolation prize the USA will get a sand dune along the shores of the PG. A nation where we will have military assets picked over like free turkeys a day before Thanksgiving.

The Pakistan alliance US-Anglo is a holdover of the Cold War and Britain looking to sabotage India’s independence.

After gaining independence in 1947 India didn’t want to have close relations with the Brits and by extention the US. Pakistan was what was left to ally in the region.

Umm, it’s actually not as simple as that. India had VERY CLOSE relations with the U.K. since independence. Even proximity to the USSR didn’t hinder ties with the U.K. Which country was the largest export user of the English Electric Canberra, Hawker Sea Hawk, Sea Harrier, Sepecat Jaguar, Vickers battle tank ... the list goes on

This is disappointing, I thought we had a good thing going. I was more disappointed yesterday to hear even Trump say we needed to continue giving money and aid to Pakistan because it is an unstable country with nukes! This defies logic but it seems to be the the policy of every president, regardless of which party they belonged to. By that token we should be showering North Korea with money.

They’ll start selling the nukes if we cut them off(Saudi Arabia already has an order in). We need to seize their nukes ASAP.

Pakistan is more dangerous than North Korea in my view. This is the effed up state of American foreign policy where or key ally is a danger to our nation.

But didn’t the Prime Minister of India say that the U.K is a declining power and India will ally themselves with the powers of future (what they thought is the USSR)?
