Burlingame is a small town albeit rather upscale. Only have around 65-66 officers. They have been reinforced from other agencies.

Not that I would ever encourage violence, but at 72, with my new pacemaker, if I was physically assaulted as he was, I would be justified in fearing for my life, and would take such action as Florida law and Sig Sauer provides for in such cases.

Careful, though. If the worst happens and you are forced to defend yourself and kill a dirtbag or two, this post can be used to prove premeditation. You'd be accused of setting them up.

Being masked is one step away from criminal, and should be an immediate cause for arrest unless the mask is removed.

if you can get within arm's reach, pull it off!

I remember a news reporter asking a protester what it was he/they were protesting and the guy said, “I’d rather not say”.

Saying "Soro's people are paying me $16 an hour" would'a got him in trouble with the boss.

There’s really only one way to deal with thugs if the cops won’t help. Give the bright young college students and rent-a-thugs a few concussions and broken bones, and ‘they’ will have to start paying more for their recruits.

They may get to make the rules, but we need to learn them and play by them.

My feelings on the 1911 exactly. Had my first one 16. No one cared, because everyone else did too. It was so loose and beaten up that when you shook it, it would rattle, even with a full magazine pushing up against the slide!

In RVN, even took mine into the shower hooch in base camp.

Look at a Sig 938 if you get a chance. It’s like a half size 1911. and it just “feels right!”

Be well.

I know you are right, but I just could never get my “muscle memory” to work it out right.

I’ve been accustomed to a 1911 click-bang for 56 years and it has never left me.

I had to do a lot of dry-fire practice in front of the TV to get that muscle memory for the Glock.

I kinda figured you for a long-time 1911 guy. That’s why I was surprised that you went to Sig. I hate the SA trigger pull on their guns. I hate the DA pull too, but the SA pull just seems sloppy.

I had one early, and then through the Army, so it’s always been my choice. I haven’t been able to find the pistol I really want.

1911 style
Dual side safety
Double stack 15-18 rounds
9mm
night sights, but not fancy, catch your clothing target sights.
reasonable price

Any suggestions.

(What ever happened to ParaOrdinance?)

Also SAO.

I’m not a competitive target shooter. I just want to be able to make the “hostage shot”. I.e. The wife is being held by a knife-wielding perp at ten meters, using her body as a shield.

His head is viable.

I just want to be 100% sure I can take that “hostage shot” 100%, not 99%, the perp 100% DRT, and I never felt that way about my Glocks.

Have a good evening.

In RVN, even took mine into the shower hooch in base camp.

When my younger brother graduated from Navy ROTC and went into the Marines I bought a pair of 1911s. One for him and one for me to use during annual Air Force qualification. He carried his in VN. I carried mine in upcountry Thailand.

I later learned that he had appendicitis while in VN. He told me that as he was being signed in to the hospital, he called one of his sergeants and told him to get over there and take charge of his 1911. He knew that if it was "secured" by the hospital, it would disappear. Had it been an issue item, he wouldn't have cared, but it was a present from me, and he didn't want it stolen.
