Kasich’s currency completely evaporated the instant Cruz cried uncle. His only chance was to swing his delegates to Trump in exchange for the VP slot or some other position in the future Trump Administration. Now he has nothing left to do but make one final speech before fading back into obscurity.

There is an article posted in FR about how Kasich was the big loser of the Indiana primary. I think you summed up the reason here.
