AUSTIN With Donald Trump now the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, former President George W. Bush does not plan to participate in or comment on the presidential race, a spokesman said Wednesday.
...
And George W. Bush whose decision was first reported by The Associated Press isnt the only one in his family who will be sitting out the election. A spokesman for George H.W. Bush told The Texas Tribune that the former president is retired from politics.
He came out of retirement to do a few things for Jeb, Bush 41 spokesman Jim McGrath told the media outlet. But those were the exceptions that proved the rule.

After making those remarks George Bush I was on the phone with his family friends the Hinckleys. :-(
All I can say is Hallelujah! Maybe they’ll stay out of all of them forever.
The Clintons and Bushes are so yesterday...and it was a damned bad yesterday.
The Bush family is worst thing to ever come out of the Republican Party. It will take decades to remove that vile stain.
Sorry, I’m just not seeing a down side to the Bushes staying away.
Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson said that ALL of Trumps 16 opponents are under VP consideration EXCEPT Jebby and Linseed Graham.
Actually, this announcement disappoints me. I’m not eager to find out what Unintended Consequences a Trump Administration will have for us, but among his good points is the fact that he almost always seems to find impressive people to fill important roles. I’d rather he found someone who wasn’t on stage during the opening rounds, and someone who fills the role perfectly... for the VP slot, that mostly involves bringing in strategic states, and positive PR, and whopping up on the VP candidate in the General Election debate.
I could not get the article, so I couldn’t read it. Seems to me by the headline though the Bush’s are projecting their loyalty to the NWO direction they’ve been participants knowing Trump is going to set back their handiwork.
That is a plus regardless of who is running.
Does a bear crap in the woods. A Trump election makes Bush into the Gerald Ford of Republican politics. Hey he was once president, believe it or not!
If I were Trump if asked about Bush not supporting me there are several options in response:
I understand, I kicked his brothers butt.
I understand, he has to support his brother Bill’s wife.
Good, the Bush name is the kiss of death politically after two disastrous administrations.
Supporting Hillary, it is your prerogative Mr. Bush, I wish you the all the best.
And that’s a good thing.
Why do I think the Bushes will be causing trouble from afar to keep their fingerprints off of the situation?
The Bushes will not go quietly into the night. I expect the Bushes to do everything in their power to insure a Trump loss.
Almost killed it.
you wonder? really?
You already KNOW in your heart that they are scared crapless.
They were a danger to the USA then and now.
I’m not a fan of Roger Stone, but I think he’s right when he describes them as the Bush crime family.
So... let me get this straight...
7 years, while the country is being dismembered, they’re quiet...
Now, when we have a chance to take the country back, they decide to take a stand...
Yup. That’s about right. Sorry I ever stuck up for Dubya out here (and I did, many times).
It doesn’t say anything about them not voting. They won’t comment or campaign. Frankly, that’s good. They would be of no help. Most Republicans would like to forget either one of them was ever President.
