State Department Tweets Time Magazine Article About Muslims and Donald Trump
Weekly Standard ^ | 5/11/16 | Jeryl Bier

Posted on 05/11/2016 8:50:11 PM PDT by Nachum

Global Engagement (formerly known as Think Again, Turn Away) is the State Department's anti-terrorism communications division specializing in social media messaging to dissuade would-be terrorists from joining ISIS or similar groups. Tuesday, the Global Engagement Twitter account tweeted a link to a Time Magazine article accompanied by the text "London's first Muslim Mayor: It's really important that I use my experiences to defeat radicalization & extremism."

While the Time interview with the mayor covers the larger issue of combating religious extremism, the article is actually titled, "Exclusive: London Mayor Sadiq Khan on Religious Extremism, Brexit and Donald Trump." The subtitle is, "If Donald Trump becomes the President, I'll be stopped from going there by virtue of my faith."

As seen in the image above, the tweet itself mentions Trump twice -- the article itself references the presumptive GOP nominee nine times. (The article was updated after its initial publication to note Trump's apparent willingness to make the London mayor an exception to his proposed ban on Muslims entering the United States.)

The guy is looking for a fight. He’s the Mayor of London for crying out loud. Why would Trump ban him from visiting. The ban would be against bringing in Muslims from all over the World to live here, not visit, AND THAT JERK MAYOR KNOWS IT VERY WELL.

The Muslim Mayor of London (Churchill would love that!) is a liar. The US State Department is meddling in party politics again, and should stick to revealing Hillary’s crimes.

Until I get my invitation to come to Mecca with my Bible, this disingenuous hypocrite can STFU about being denied anything by virtue of his faith.

Hmm interesting choice of words. Would that be because Trump is a Christian and Obama is really a Muslim in which case he wouldn't fear coming here? Does that also mean that he would come here if Hillary became president because she also is not a Christian but rather a witch or by now, a Muslim convert? You have to pay close attention to the two forked tongues...

No love lost. The English Parliament talked about barring Donald Trump from England/Scotland. Turn about is fair play!
No more Muslims in the US.

State Dept should NOT be involved in politics. One could consider this part of the Clinton campaign. It used to be frowned upon to use federal employees to campaign...

Ryan and McConnell should be admonishing the State Department from getting involved in the Presidential campaign. This is blatant interference.

Tell him Rudy Giuliani would be happy to get together on Barbados or the BVI.

After all, Rudy was a mayor before Kahn was and he just might be moving beyond New York and into a national role.

That meeting just might encourage Mr. Kahn to analyze what immigration is supposed to mean rather than his "progressive" concept of conquest through victimhood.
