In 1916 the French and English drew borders in the Middle East to satisfy their imperial ambitions. Jay Shapiro thinks that the division now collapsed completely.
So what is the big mistake of Europe? Listen to figure it out.

If we had known this, I’d say we would have been better off had the Central Powers won WWI.

The collapse of the European empires after WW2 was a tragedy for the planet. The world would be a much better place had they been able to hold to the present day.

After WWI, WWII was just piling on.

Still, I think they could have survived were it not for the Soviet Union fomenting unrest all across the globe.

I always wondered why it was called a world war when it was fought mostly in Europe. Watched a doc recently that explained it was a world war because people were sucked into the fighting from the farthest flung reaches of the various empires so you had Zulus and Hindus fighting Ethiopians and Tunisians in the trenches of France.
WWII was a different animal. It was literally conducted in all corners of the world.

WWI was fought in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, England, Africa, and Asia. Pretty global, if not quite as widespread as WWII.

This was alluded to in the closing of the film "Lawrence of Arabia"

Western nations should have stayed out of the Middle East and Africa entirely. Screw the oil and their natural resources.

But it was the trench warfare in Europe that was the meat grinder.

It wouldn’t have mattered where any boundary lines were drawn. Islam is a war-making cult and it would have continued its many invasions and mass- murders and bombings and terrorist attacks anyway. All around the world. Just like now. Boundary lines are just laughed at by islamics

EXACTLY and we fought on the wrong side in WW I !
Actually, we NEVER should have been in it in the first place and had Bosnia just dome what Emperor Fran Joseph had asked for, there wouldn't have been a WW I in the first place.
I suggest that everyone reads "VERSAILLES 1919" !

I read it, also DREADNOUGHT, and am extremely well versed and knowledgeable re what led up to W I, what lead to it, in minute detail, and WHY we had no business being in it. Also how Wilson, the idiot, was used by the Brits and the French at Versailles.
How about you?
