Earnest: Wouldn't Be 'Fair' for Rhodes to Testify Before GOPs 'Who Lied About Iran Deal'
PJ Media ^ | 5-16-2016 | Bridget Johnson

WASHINGTON -- The White House said Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes will not be testifying at a Tuesday House hearing because it's not "a fair deal for people who lied about the Iran deal to question the person that told the truth," in the words of press secretary Josh Earnest.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee called the hearing on the White House's messaging surrounding the Iran nuclear deal after a New York Times article detailed how Rhodes helmed the effort to spin the deal to sell it to Congress and the American public.

(snip)

"The truth is, it is Republicans in Congress who criticize the Iran deal who've got a lot to explain when it comes to saying things about the Iran deal that didn't turn out to be true. And if they want to hold a hearing to determine whether or not Republicans were just wrong and badly misinformed or if they were purposely lying to the American people, then they can do that," Earnest said. ......

"Everything that Ben Rhodes said about the Iran deal did turn out to be true... Ben Rhodes is the person who told the truth about the Iran deal and it's Republicans who are either badly misinformed or downright lying about the Iran deal. And so, if they want to explore that; they are welcome to do that."

In a just world, Josh Earnest will be hunted down in a future Administration and put in stocks in the public square where we can throw rotten fruit at his lying face.

And these people wonder why a significant percentage of the country wants to throw out all politicians and start over from the outside.

This administration knows that they can say anything and get away with it.

They’ve gone from petulant to downright dangerous.

——1984-—

Precisely

The regime invents flimsy reasons to try to exert power they do not have and covers it with language having no basis in reality.

In a just world, that would be the warm up.

Well, that will be good enough
for the ever-lying, America-backstabbing,
complicit, submissive, paid off, still-EXEMPT GOP.
May they ALL be recalled, indicted, and
held responsible for every criminal released,
every disease imported, every car accident by illegals,
and every rape by illegals ON THEIR WATCH.

Neither Ryan nor McConnell have any idea how to handle a challenge like this one.

Independent counsel and subpoenas come to mind. But in spite of all his scandals and lawlessness, I think Obama is the first president since maybe Ford not to have an independent counsel looking into his business. This is why the GOP is dead, they serve no purpose at this point as an opposition party because they refuse to oppose.

I believe I read on Instapundit recently that there is not a single Republican member of the White House Press Corps. Not a single one.

Comment by my Congresscritter (Dave Brat):

“Yesterday, the White House said that Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes will not testify about the Iran nuclear deal before a House committee, calling it a “separation of powers” issue.

Rhodes recently bragged to the New York Times about creating an “echo chamber” of Obama allies who promoted the White House talking points on the dangerous Iran deal in order to sell it to the American people. This manipulative propaganda scheme would make any dictator proud. Mr. Rhodes needs to take his creative storytelling skills somewhere away from the White House and outside of our national security. That is the only real “separation of powers” that he is likely to understand.”

When Iran finally gets their nukes and gives them to one of their many terrorist proxies to detonate in the U.S., I hope Rhodes, Earnest, Kerry, and the rest of the Hussein Regime and their enablers have a least a couple seconds to contemplate what they’ve done before being pulverized by the blast wave.
