As summer approaches in Louisiana, prison officials insist that ice, fans and cold showers are enough to protect death-row inmates from dangerous heat and humidity. [ ]
U.S. District Judge Brian Jackson questioned Friday why prison officials wont spend roughly $1 million to install the air conditioning, since the state has already spent much more money fighting this issue in court. The judge already ruled it unconstitutional to keep inmates where the heat index exceeds 88 degrees.

Another great reason to vote Trump!
When I went to school in south Alabama in the late 50’s and early 60’s, we had no AC in the schools, just fans and open windows.
Years ago there was a local radio personality in Dallas who did a call in sports show. He would sometimes expound on other issues. One issue was air conditioning the prisons.
Leon said, why are we doing this. These guys are CONvicts. He went on to say I spent two years in a tent and all I said was I do!
I howled at that one.
Are they debating for AC for now or after death, when they walk into Hades. Surprised to hear there are still holding death row prisoners...BO’B has not yet granted these ‘folks’ pardons?
I had a summer job as a kid in Apoaloussa (sp) LA. Outdoors. My title was “laborer”. Went back to college with a better appreciation for good grades.
Was that the 33rd Amendment? I missed that right.

Obama appointee.
They’ll get air conditioning, Playstation, WiFi...
In the 50s & early 60s, we had 70-4 AC in the family car.
70 mph and all 4 windows open!
If you can’t do the time, Then don’t do the crime. Keep your eye on the sparrow.
They needed ventilating.
just fans and open windows.”
Most windows in schools and office buildings no longer open. We did not have air conditioning for the first 30 years of my life and then only a window unit. Temps were well over 90 in the summer. Always did our work/chores early in the morning and late in the day. Maybe they could just let these guys sit in a pirogue and dangle their feet in the swamp. That should keep them cool.
It’d be a real shame if they expired before they were to be executed. /s

In Louisiana this is known as alligator fishin’.
I live in south Georgia and we don’t have AC now.
Just open windows and fans.
Did I mention that we live on a sailboat in a marina? It does help.
If the sentences were carried out, they wouldn’t need it for long.
Yep. Good past time for them to have.
I’m reminded of Ecclesiastes 8:11. Extending appeals and coddling such criminals makes their hearts fully set towards doing evil.
They should put air conditioning in all prisons, and let the prisoners have as much ice cream as they want. They should also remove all fitness equipment and end all exercise and sports. Because when the prisoners are finally let go (which most of them are), I’d rather they be mellow, out of shape, and lazy instead of angry, physically fit, and energetic.
