Lawsuit filed to extend last day to register to vote in California primary

A federal lawsuit alleging widespread confusion over California's presidential primary rules asks that voter registration be extended past Monday's deadline until the day of the state's primary election on June 7.

"Mistakes are being made," said William Simpich, an Oakland civil rights attorney who filed the lawsuit.

At issue is whether voters understand the rules for the presidential primary, which differ from those governing other elections in California.

Unlike statewide primaries -- where voters now choose any candidate, no matter the political party -- the presidential contests are controlled by the parties themselves. Democrats have opened up their primary to voters that have no political affiliation.

"There's mass confusion," Simpich [said]. "This is a situation that really shouts out for some uniformity."

Idiot people. Voting is a right, no question. However, it comes with certain, personal responsibilities.....like thinking ahead to ensure you're registered.

Where does it end?

I had read that Sander's supporters were registering with the American Independent Party so they could be "independent" and vote for Bernie. Then they found out the AIP was a very conservative party, using scripture as part of their party plank. Now they find out they can't even vote for Bernie because they are registered with the wrong party.

And so they are suing.

There should also be a lawsuit to move the deadline backwards, iow, registration is OVER, go home, sit down, shut up. P.S. -- vote for Bernie in the California primary!

Democrats pulled this sort of crap in Florida. They sued to extend early voting, weren’t getting their way, and so went ahead and opened for voting on Sunday, and used absentee ballots to facilitate extended early voting. West Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher notified the Democrat Party of her decision to open on Sunday morning and abuse absentee ballots.

The Bernie Babies need time to change their party affiliation from Green or Communist to Democrat.

If we changed laws because govt made mistakes, wed have no laws at all as they would all be in a state of constant flux and challenge.

If your registered to vote in California, your registered to vote.
Only difference is, in the Presidential primaries you have to vote in the party you are registered with.
Example;

Republican Party
1: BUSH
2: KASICH
3: RUBIO
4: TRUMP———XXXX

Democrat Party

1: CRIMINAL HILDA BEAST
2: COMMUNIST BERNIE
3: STUPID BIDEN
4: FAUXAHONTAS
5: JUST KILL ME———XXXXXXXXXXXXX

It’s not that hard to figure out unless your a Prog/Lib/Transi/Socialist/Communist/Democrat.
Or just lazy and stupid, but I repeat myself.

Some airheaded actors (Kaley Cuoco was one) registered with AIP, not knowing it was the party George Wallace created to run for POTUS in 1968.

Epic Fail, to say the least. Not surprised they want a re-do.

And two minutes of research via Google would have let them know that. It confirms my suspicion that the left doesn’t really think things through. It almost seems as if they are doing what they are told to do via groupthink.
