As the private wealth of the (Roman) Empire was gradually confiscated or taxed away, driven away or hidden, economic growth slowed to a virtual standstill. Moreover, once the wealthy were no longer able to pay the state’s bills, the burden inexorably fell onto the lower classes, so that average people suffered as well from the deteriorating economic conditions. In RostovtzefFs words, “The heavier the pressure of the state on the upper classes, the more intolerable became the condition of the lower” (Rostovtzeff 1957: 430).

No. American are NOT equal under the Law,
as falsely advertised at SCOTUS.

Congress, their families, their staff, and their
families, and SCOTUS, and their families,
and their staff are EXEMPT from Law and ObamaCARE.

EXEMPT. How special.
They get Kennedy-style health care, and
VETs die waiting as the “US” Congress laughs and whores.

No. Hillary and bammy got away with what they did about Benghazi. The IRS chief was not put in jail. People are fined for saying the wrong pronoun. This is not a nation of laws, but of an administration that is willing to use the coercive force of the government to prosecute innocent enemies, and to protect members of the democrat party.

Capricious application of regulations has largely supplanted any law proceedings, which tend to take years moving through courts.

Regulations, however, can vastly accelerate the process of incarceration, and payment of bail money, which is assumed to be forfeited, is a good and reliable source of local funding without going through all this legislative crap.

America has degenerated into a nation of lawyers

Those that work for the president ignore the law

for the rest, the law is whatever you can convince a judge

there is a tyranny of lawyers

We have been through the looking glass legally for some time now.

John Roberts gymnastics over Obamacare made it easier for many to see.

NO! Sad to say.

Could that all change for the better if Donald J. Trump is elected come this November?

Yeah, laws enforced against US citizens and taxpayers but not the invading illegal aliens. San Fransicko is a sanctuary city meaning they thumb their nose at federal laws without consequence.

Hear, hear. It is all about lining the pockets of lawyers, black-robed tyrants, and the leftist agenda items, like queers in the bathroom with your kids.

If we were, The Won and Herself would have already been hanged for treason.

Eric Holder would have been extradited to Mexico to stand trial for several hundred counts of negligent homicide.

Jon Corzine would already be doing life in prison for stealing a gigabuck-and-a-half.

And so on.

No we aren’t a nation of laws or even a constitutional republic anymore. Pretending like we are and arguing and behaving on those terms is worthless. The only option is to be brutal and have states and localities simply stand up and openly reject these lawless “laws”. The idea that the Supreme Court can just get away with making up law from bench on issues like abortion and ssm marriage is crazy. We aren’t a nation of laws. If we were a nation of laws those Justices would be drug into the streets and imprisoned for abuse of power the same goes for these justices ruling in favor of this transgender nonsense. Until people are willing to hold the line and stand up and boldly rebuke this crap we will continue to find our culture even in solidly red communities overruled and destroyed. Its long past time to return fire.

“The judge has the responsibility of determining whether a given case falls within or outside of a law. “

And it ends there - judges issue opinions. Period. A judge has no constitutional authority to write a law or nullify a law. Any judge who tries to write law must be immediately impeached and removed. Charges of sedition should follow.
