Documents show ‘American Sniper’ Chris Kyle embellished record

Documents show that slain Navy Seal and “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle misrepresented the number of medals he received.

Navy documents obtained by an online magazine through an open records request show that Kyle earned one Silver Star and three Bronze Stars with valor. In his best-selling book, Kyle wrote that he had received two Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars.

A Navy spokeswoman confirmed the validity of the documents and says the armed services branch is investigating the discrepancy.

The Intercept first reported the discrepancy and posted the documents.

Kyle’s widow, Taya Kyle, didn’t immediately return a phone call seeking comment Wednesday.

Kyle, regarded as the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history, was killed in 2013 at a Texas shooting range. A former Marine was convicted in his death.

Only ONE Silver and THREE Bronzes???? Geeeez! What a piker! Certainly unworthy of any admiration, unlike Hillary Clinton, who survived a virtual maelstrom of gunfire in Bosnia or John Kerrey, who almost stubbed his little toe one time in ‘Nam.

Kyle has been dead how long?

A little over three years. Six months after Benghazi, which I'm sure the media are investigating with equal fervor...not...

I’m waiting for O’Reilly to publish a book entitled ‘Killing Chris Kyle’. Would love to see Team O’Reilly investigate WHOSE ORDERS KYLE’S HIT MAN WAS CARRYING OUT. I’ll betcha it came from the Muzzie in the White Hut.

Next thing you know, the MSM might investigate why Sharpton calls himself a Reverend.

Why would a man with so many medals make up more?

That would still be one silver star and three bronze stars more than most of his critics.

Liberals hate the military, real heroes, strong men, fathers, families, true Christians, heteros, capitalists, conservatives, truth.

(Well, liberal woman ‘say’ they don’t like strong men.)

Didn’t know that liberal women liked any man since it’s all sexist and everything.

Sometimes medals do get omitted in their DD 214s that have been awarded. The service member does not do a good check when they leave, or at the time the paperwork proof is halfway around the world.

I had to correct my DD214 for the few medals I received. It left off my marksmanship and good conduct medals.

Wow. The guy is dead. And they even called his widow to rub it in or something. God knows why. Amazing.

“My guess is that his claim is accurate and the Navy records are not.”

BINGO!

As someone who served in the US Navy, I can vouch for the Navy’s ability

to royally screw up simple record keeping.

**** “If you look at my service record, it is missing a MUC (Meritorious Unit Citation) that I received. Service records are filled with inaccuracies” *****

I have 8-10 boxes of “Records” 28 years worth and I can’t get a “20 Year Letter”

Inaccurate is a word that does not apply. They just tell me to contact my Congresscritter ... they don’t have the time or means to look at my “Records”

I had a helluva time correcting the RE-4 reentry code i received on my

DD214. My soon to be employer was ready to completely disqualify me

because of it. And since my last duty station was a ship, it turned into a

big mess and took quite a while to get this mistake resolved.
