The economy in our household is worse than when he started. Flat income, and everything else increasing, especially health care/insurance, taxes, food and energy costs.... If we could quit supporting all of the freeloaders and illegals, possibly we could experience an improvement.

Yes, to everything you said. And worse, unless it is something that could be life-threatening, people (who have to pay for their own insurance premiums, co-pays, and deductibles) will not even GO to the doctor, because they cannot afford the deductibles.
