The Hispanic National Bar Association represents the interests of nearly 54 million Hispanics/Latinos in the United States, which is approximately 17% of the U.S. population. By his recent derogatory remarks about Mexican immigrants, Donald Trumps disrespect of such a large segment of the population of America is not only unbelievable, but outright wrong. His comment that Mexico only sends rapists and criminals to the United States reveals a racist nature that cannot and will not go unnoticed by the Hispanic National Bar Association nor the Latino community.
Those who seek our highest public office should attempt to engage all Americans, not divide us. His comments are clearly divisive and racist and do nothing to promote equality and justice for all. Trumps statements reveal a bias that all Americans should reject and respond to accordingly. We cannot stand silent and allow Trump to promote such racist and discriminatory behavior. This is the time for all Americans to take a stand against his insensitive, offensive and untrue statements.
The HNBA calls for a boycott of all of Trump business ventures, including golf courses, hotels, and restaurants. We salute NBC/Universal, Univision and Macys for ending their association with Trump, and we join them in standing up against bigotry and racist rhetoric. Other businesses and corporations should follow the lead of NBC/Universal, Univision and Macys and take similar actions against Donald Trumps business interests. We can and will make a difference.
And the nation ‘cowers’ at the mighty proclamation from the Klan with a Tan Lawyers Guild.../s
“Only in our Orwellian society could a race based organization that represents Hispanics/Latinos complain about ‘racism’/’racist’.
La Raza means the Race/
Cesar Chavez vs. La Raza
By Mark Krikorian, October 16, 2009
When I wrote a few months ago about the origins of la raza as a racial-surpremacist concept (developed in the 20s and 30s on the idea of the biological superiority of mestizos), Janet Murguia, head of the National Council of La Raza, pointed and sputtered over at the Huffington Post.
Well, while reading a memoir/history of the immigration reform movement by retired historian Otis Graham (whos on CISs board), I find out that even Cesar Chavez rejected the la raza idea as inherently racist. Graham quoted a 1969 New Yorker profile by Peter Matthiessen:
I hear more and more Mexicans talking about la razato build up their pride, you know, Chavez told me. Some people dont look at it as racism, but when you say la raza, you are saying an anti-gringo thing, and it wont stop there. Today its anti-gringo, tomorrow it will be anti-Negro, and the day after it will be anti-Filipino, anti-Puerto Rican. And then it will be anti-poor-Mexican, and anti-darker-skinned Mexican. ... La razais a very dangerous concept. I speak very strongly against it among the chicanos.
And in Sal Si Puedes: Cesar Chavez and the New American Revolution, his 1970 biography, Matthiessen talked to Chavez deputy Leroy Chatfield:
Thats one of the reasons he is so upset about la raza. The same Mexicans that ten years ago were talking about themselves as Spaniards are coming on real strong these days as Mexicans.
Everyone should be proud of what they are, of course, but race is only skin-deep. Its phony and it comes out of frustration; the la raza people are not secure.
They look upon Cesar as their dumb Mexican leader; hes become their saint. But he doesnt want any part of it. He said to me just the other day, Cant they understand that thats just the way Hitler started?
A few months ago the Ford Foundation funded a la razagroup and Cesar really told them off. The foundation liked the outfits sense of pride or something, and Cesar tried to explain to them what the origin of the word was, that its related to Hitlers concept.
In 1968, the Ford Foundation started the Southwest Council of La Raza, presumably the outfit Chatfield was referring to, which five years later changed its name to the National Council of La Raza.
At least 27 million of their purported 54 million Hispanic/Latino represented population are illegals.
Hispanic National Bar Association. How damn racist can you get.
The HNBA calls for a boycott of all of Trump business ventures, including golf courses, hotels, and restaurantsNo problem until all the Mexicans working at those places lose their jobs because a few educated idiots made the decision to ruin the businesses that employ themNo problem.
Trump went to Florida and demanded that all races be admitted to his country club. Just a fact. He’s not a racist, and these attacks will all fall.
Quite so.
The Hispanic National Bar Association is a La Raza supporter? Who knew?
Nothing like special group telling me that I shouldn’t pay attention to special groups....
This PC junk is already backfiring. They are getting desperate.
Oh, and they can afford to stay in his hotels and golf on his courses...give me a break!!!
Racist bast***s.
One could say that the KKK “represents the interests” of 150,000,000 white Americans.
These racist groups need to be called out for being blatant racists.
Isn’t this the same Hispanic lawyer’s club of which the subject judge has been deeply involved or is there another?
He’s La Raza
http://dailycaller.com/2016/06/01/judge-presiding-over-trump-university-case-is-member-of-la-raza-lawyers-group/
I have read that he’s not the 1st judge on the case. I don’t know how to look that up.
You call your organization The Race. Shut up, you racists!
One would expect an organization like the Hispanic National Bar Association to demonstrate a little more intelligence and objectivity in making an unsupported assertion against Donald Trump! Of course they will not because they do not want to admit that many rapists, criminals, gang members, mobsters, and terrorists illegally enter our country.
The Hispanic National Bar Association disgraces itself, especially fair minded members. They want to ignore a serious issue that Mexico itself does not have because Mexico has effective border security.
No kidding, how idiotic and no way in h*** represent me. They are just using an Alinsky tactic to make themselves look more important than they are, lol.
Why would any normal Americans pick out lawyers base on their own race/color of skin, to begin with?
Now that IS racist.
CGato
Ummm - actually he didn't. I would expect an association of attorneys to be more precise in their use of language. Hope I never get whoever wrote this for an attorney.
All Trump is saying is that he doesn’t think he’s getting a fair shake from the judge.
They say, “For Latinos, everything; for everyone else, nothing.”
OK. So why would Trump—who makes it crystal clear he will start controlling our southwestern border again from the decades long and ongoing invasion by `Latinos’—feel that he might be getting screwed?
He knows what he’s doing. He’s doing something no one on the right side of the aisle has had the cojones to do: he’s calling them out.
