Pelosi Claims Government Created the iPhone, Not Steve Jobs or Apple Aaron Kliegman

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) claimed Thursday that the federal government created the iPhone rather than the technology company Apple or its former chief executive officer, Steve Jobs.
“Anybody here have a smartphone?” Pelosi asked an audience at a Democratic National Convention Platform hearing in Washington, D.C.
Pelosi then held up an iPhone for everyone to see, telling those in the room, “In this smartphone, almost everything came from federal investments in research.”
She then listed elements of the iPhone that various parts of the government have contributed to in certain ways.
“The list goes on and on. If you want to learn more, look at the Association for the Advancement of Science in America, and they have the full list,” Pelosi said. “They say Steve Jobs did a good idea designing it and putting it together. Federal research invented it.”

Might as well say Bell Labs invented the iPhone. Actually, Bell developed the transistor, without which the IC would never have existed. Not only did Bell do it without public funding, the government stole the patent from them.
If the government had a role, it was funding the Defense Dept’s development of the ICBM and countless wireless communications systems. I’m sure Nancy will be real quick to acknowledge the contributions of the military and its private contractors.

Idiot Al Gore was stupid enough to think that the phrase “Good enough for government work” was a mark of quality.
In reality it means any old piece of crap can be given to the government under a government contract. I’ve seen actual pieces of parts that fell and were broken put into a shipping box for government receiving.
I would LOVE to see the look on the face of the factory workers who told him that (as a joke) when he first said it publicly. They are probably still laughing.

Nancy Pelosi is a loser who would be a nobody, except other people created her "career". She didn't get there by smarts or experience.
Her brother was mayor of Baltimore, and linked her up with big-shot politicians at parties and asked them to create a career for her. Her father was a congressman. They helped her become an intern for a senator. Another brother was a Supervisor in San Francisco, and asked his friend, congressman Phil Burton to coach her (Phil Burton being one of the most powerful Congress leaders).
So it was her family that created Nancy Pelosi. As in the Godfather series, she was the Fredo of the family, a loser idiot who got pushed upwards in politics. The nation suffers as a result.
