ORLANDO - The gunman responsible for the deaths of 49 people inside a gay nightclub in Orlando pledged loyalty to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in his last moments, and the Mideast terrorist group quickly and happily took the credit.
However, if the statements of several patrons of Orlando's gay scene are proven true, ISIS would probably prefer to take Omar Mateen and throw him off a tower.
A U.S. official with knowledge of the situation tells CBS News that club-goers have told investigators that Mateen had been at Pulse numerous previously. Additionally, other media outlets have heard several stories of Mateen popping up and conversing with men on gay dating apps.
While it is still possible Mateen was just very closely surveying his chosen target for terror, former senior FBI profiler Mary Ellen O'Toole told CBS News that doesn't seem likely.

I don’t know.
Any one of them can become a weapon of mass destruction at anytime.
Don’t let your guard down.
Muslims are the crazy ants of mankind.
There's no doubt Omar Mateen's religious beliefs motivated the attack. The question is whether he was a lone wolf inspired by Islamist ideology or if he was part of a larger cell. The fact that he pledged allegiance to ISIS in a 911 call doesn't mean that he was taking marching orders from them.
By all accounts, he seemed incredibly stupid and ignorant even as far as Muslim fundamentalists go, praising (Shi'ite) Hizbollah online and then declaring loyalty to (Sunni rival) Al Nusra front and ISIS. So based on what I've read, my guess is that he was lone wolf acting on his religion and ideology rather than part of a larger terrorist organization taking orders from a mastermind.
By that I mean to confuse the issue with so many conflicting theories and stimulations that you're unsure what to believe any more.
The preferred result is for the public to throw up its hands in confusion and despair, wanting to never hear another word about it.
When it's over you're not sure what actually happened any more, whether it was real or imagined. Into this vacuum they can pour their interpretation of events, which becomes THE TRUTH.
Muslim Terrorist.
- Period.
What amazes me is how hard the Dems and the MSM are trying to make this about anything, anything other than the corrosive influence of Islam.
Sure, the guy may have had violence issues; he may have had sexual issues; but the focusing mechanism that entrained him to mass murder rather than a mere one-on-one random explosion is Islam. It’s the difference between a random nut taking out a couple of people, and that random nut being inspired to take out 50 or 100.
Islam is the problem.
As to the “homegrown” issue, who can tell anymore with the way the government has been intent on diluting and swamping the pre-existing white population. Mateen may have been born here, but “he’s not from around here” if you know what I mean. And, its our idiotic policies that let his parents come here in the first place.
Nihilism fits in very well with a certain strand of Islam. A man like Omar Lateen mat be deeply disturbed and depressed by his own unwanted attraction to repulsive sins like drunkenness, sodomy, etc. He wavers between indulging these sins, and loathing himself because of them.
Then he comes across thus plausible Islamic theology that says he can be washed clean, and Allah will love him, if he “fights in the way of Allah” and departs this life mowing down infidels.
Voila. Personal absolution and salvation, mujahedeen style.
I’m waiting on someone to suggest that he had HIV.
Bing! - Bing! - Bing! We have a winner!
Absolutely correct, and if you subscribe to Occam’s Razor, the only logical reason for what happened in Orlando.
Ok . so he might have homosexual tendencies or not. He might have been a self-loathing homo on a suicide mission, jor not. Or all along, he was planning a mass killing and the fact he hung out there was just part of the plan to get highly familiar with the place, gain the trust of a few people so that he wasnt a complete stranger when he walked in. Once the principle of taqiya is in place, all plot lines are plausible including multiple ones at the same time where the eventual actions solved a few problems for the killer at the same time i.e. please his father, satisfy the requirements of his religion, eliminate the self-loathing (by offing himself) and get his 72 virgins etc.
I can just picture Screwtape high-fiving Wormwood and his friends over the Pulse operation.
So it wasn’t a Hate Crime because the shooter was gay?
Let just say he wasn’t shouting “RaPaul is great” during the shooting.
I’ll let you in on a secret. A lot of Muslim men have sex with men. A gay friend said they were the easiest pickups. But they won’t catch, they only pitch. Catching means you are gay. Pitching is simply domination.
It’s not uncommon for Muslim men to kill their lovers for being gay.
if you look at the Muslim attitudes on homosexuality they don’t see anything wrong with being the penetrator in a homosexual relationship but any guy that allows them selves to be penetrated is the one that they want to kill.
This is their out. They can turn this into a self-loathing gay muzzie who snapped and took out his farcical Christian and society gay hating induced rage on a gay night club. This allows for the demonetization of guns, Christians and society in general and the leftist give the radical islamist a pass—again.
How ugly.
There are a lot of Bacha Bazi boys being raped by ISIS and Taliban who disagree.
I wonder if the POTUS battles this type of internal confusion, being muslim, gay, a father, a leader of the free wold, but torn between his faith and his perverted sexual urges. I’m just feeling sorry for him. Not trying to get audited by the IRS. I already was.
Just wondering what kind of demons hound him, if they do.

From the same geniuses who insisted the DC sniper was a white racist. After yesterday's shameful press conference I don't believe anything the Feds tell us. About all they're good for is shooting ranchers in the back (Oregon), burning women and children alive (Waco) and shooting unarmed mothers holding infants (Ruby Ridge).
You are D*mn close to reality. When I first heard of this shooting I told my wife the most interesting feature of this killing will be how the politicians and media spin the act.
I’ve studied Middle Eastern gender norms professionally for many years, and I’d like to clear something up.
It’s very unlikely that Mateen was a closet homosexual as liberals are alleging. This is not to say that he did not engage in same-sex relations on the side or frequent the Pulse looking for sex.
In the Middle East, a man who always acts as the inserter is classified as straight. He can have same-sex relations with a boy or an effeminate male in addition to his wife without experiencing any of the shame and internal conflict that some people on this thread are imagining. As the penetrator, he does not adopt a gay identity or forfeit his straightness when he has sex with another male.
Western homosexuality is viewed with revulsion in the Middle East, not for the sex act itself, but because gay sex violates the separation of male and female. Gays have sex with gays, alternating positions, thus they are seen as abominations, neither male nor female by Afghan standards.
There is of course some possibility that Mateen had become Westernized enough to be a closet homosexual and the proof would be if he was ever a bottom. But the fact that he was so revolted by witnessing a kiss - a reciprocal, egalitarian gesture - points away from that. In short, that fact that Mateen liked to cruise a gay bar for quick sex is in no way inconsistent with him being primarily motivated by Jihadist sympathies. I would expect ISIS to single out Western gays and uncovered young women as targets because they are viewed as prime examples of Western decadence and evil.
