A wide-ranging new study by the University of Münster shows that Germanys Turkish community still has very conservative views on the role of religion in society.
The survey provides an often contradictory picture of social attitudes among Germanys 2.7 million people of Turkish origin.
A total of 47 percent of the 1,201 respondents said that following the tenets of my religion is more important to me than the laws of the land in which I live.
But the study also reveals that this viewpoint is much more firmly held by the first generation (57 percent agreement) Turks who emigrated to Germany than by their offspring (36 percent agreement among 2nd and 3rd generation Turks).
One in three respondents, meanwhile, agreed that Muslims should strive to return to a societal order like that in the time of Muhammad.

And the other half of the Turks are lying about it because the camera’s are rolling.
Bring more of them in!
And the Turks have been there - for what? 50 years?
I like how they tie “conservative” in there.
OK, actually I don’t, but FReepers know what I mean...
Shocked, I tell ya...shocked!
Well, I know they were there at least 30 years ago, as a family I stayed with had a housekeeper who was a Turk. She'd bring her daughter. I was young and naïve, and attempted to speak to the daughter, she shied and ran away. The mother seemed none too pleased. Looking back on it, she always made me feel uneasy in her presence.
Actually, the views of those Turks are quite RADICAL in a Western country.
But the author probably knows that.
Good Islamic Nazis in the making. Substitute Allah or Mohammed for Hitler, the Koran for Mein Kampf, Hitler Youth for Islamic Youth, etc. and you’ve got it.
Well duh! As a believer in Christ, I hold God’s law above state law also. So would any true believer. The argument is with Islamic law. Quit bringing them into your country.
They are not Germans, they are traitors.
They can never be a part of ANY country as their allegiance is to the sharia nation called islam.
“As a believer in Christ, I hold Gods law above state law also. “
Would you want to codify it so that it is enforced?
They aren’t Turkish Germans, they are Muslim Turks in Germany.
Huh? Where did I say they were Turkish Germans? There is no such thing. They are either citizens of Germany with Turkish ethnicity or descent or are Turkish migrants.
Muslims should strive to return to a societal order like that in the time of Muhammad.

That is what ISIS has provided an example of for our edification.
I know 4 German Turks who emigrated here. They are ll from upper middle class, successful families. They are all engineers. None of them are religious. They despise Erdogan and jihadis. They all have started their own companies. They all love America, and I’m glad to have them as friends. But I avoid talking to them about certain subjects like Erdogan and jihadis. They go wild! They hate them. But, again, they probably are somewhat exceptional; smart, well-educated here, not simple Turkish peons.
Religion is personal. It has no place in governing people.
islam makes you stupider than you are naturally.
Diversity is strength! /Sarc
1400 years of inbreeding with your cousin does the same.
