Trump shrugs off campaign money woes
POLUTICO ^ | June 21, 2016 | Louis Nelson

Donald Trump’s campaign money problems aren’t problems at all, the presumptive Republican nominee said Tuesday morning.

The billionaire real estate mogul kicked off the month of June with just $1.3 million in his campaign account, a fraction of the $42 million Hillary Clinton had on hand. But that financial gulf between the two campaigns did not appear to worry Trump though during an appearance on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” Tuesday morning.

“We want to keep it lean. I'm not looking to spend all this money. You know, I hear people spend a billion dollars. I’m saying, how do you spend a billion dollars? It's impossible. Politicians are the only ones who can spend a billion dollars,”

...Politicians are the only ones who can spend a billion dollars

...for a job that pays $400,000. Methinks the perks outweigh the salary.

If you want to buy the presidency of the United States, live in the White House and take free vacations on the taxpayers’ dime, you’ve got to have a lot of money.

Not just the presidency, but those 2 chambers of Congress as well.

Why would anyone spend $millions to get a job that pays $174,000 per year, plus benefits. Those must be some mighty expensive benefits.

Trump spent only $55 million to secure the nomination.

He has plenty of money to self-fund a general election campaign.

But he doesn’t think spending a lot of money will get him to the White House.

He doesn’t think that way and he’s betting Hillary’s budget bulge is a lot like Jeb’s.

You can spend all the money in the world with nothing to show for it.

So Trump isn’t deterred in the least by Hillary’s cash advantage.

NO, it's access to OTHER PEOPLE's money!

The drive-bys are apparently making a lot of this, using it as some sort of evidence that Trump has no intention of winning.

A co-worker sent me a link to a WAPO article this morning claiming that Trump is a Manchurian candidate whose sole purpose is to get Hillary elected. I tried not to roll my eyes, metaphorically speaking, in my reply to him.

Yes, he's frugal and can run circles around the MSM as he has already proven.

And Trump is signaling he will be diligent about curbing curbing waste, fraud and abuse.

I predict massive cuts to the bureaucracy in a Trump presidency. Long overdue!

GO TRUMP!

I had sent him a little on his birthday, and got an e-mail asking me for $250 more. So I think he’s making the attempt.

Maybe people are taking his status as a billionaire a bit too seriously and are therefore reluctant to contribute, figuring he has enough already.

Luckily Trump doesn’t need this job. He’s doing it because he truly loves his country.
