Is it the quest for power in deviants or do they become deviant once they have the power?
From the den of sin in Hollywood to the latest police scandal in NYC (which I have to read up on) nothing seems to change.

I’m not sure it is “power”. Satisfaction, fullfillment, “happiness” perhaps. All the things on earth will not provide it IMHO.
So, one climbs the rungs of power, wealth, fame, sexual gratification. “But I’m STILL not satisfied!” So it goes from sex with groupies to super models to “Maybe instead of sex with a gymnast and two midgets - sex with a 9-year old boy and a rooster will make me happy!?”
The same could probably be said about his home as well with the zoo and rides and over-the-top stuff.
I don’t think it just starts once in power, but power enables them to more aggressively pursue their deviant lifestyles and habits and perhaps push the envelope for more and more reckless behavior.
Look at Bill Cosby. He’d been doing those awful things to women since before he became famous (and audaciously even dropping hints in his family-friendly acts about drugging women, his “Spanish Fly” comments). His wife kept silent and enabled him for over 50 years. No way that the networks and production people didn’t know something was amiss with him. When he became a “superpower” in 1984 with the #1 show on tv, he could get away with anything at that point.
I’m sure if anyone prominent dared speak out, NBC would’ve sent goons to shut up the victims permanently. Too much money and prestige was at stake. Nevermind just Cosby it would’ve ruined then, it would’ve taken the network, network people (going back to the ‘60s, and not just at NBC), and destroyed countless others involved. It would’ve confirmed the very worst that the “Religious Right” had warned about regarding the evil of the whole industry.
Is it any wonder why defining deviancy down are the core goals of the Godless left. If you can normalize bad behavior or deviancy (first with undermining marriage, adultery, homosexuality, et al) into the culture, it makes what these powerful people do less and less concerning to the public. Now with the gay marriage accomplished, they’re moving on to normalization of transsexualism and next up is sex with youngsters and even bestiality. Speaking out against depravity will become more and more a no-no (indeed, turning it around and claiming those that rail against this are the ones who are the real “degenerates” and “mentally ill.” We’re already seeing that).
It’s all a concerted plan by the left to completely undermine the Judeo-Christian worldview and to impose a new order entirely. I have no hesitation to say all of this comes straight from Satan, and it is his will being served. Up is down, right is wrong, everything backwards from the King of Lies and those that advance his agenda.
I’m not a Catholic, but having heard the late Fr. Malachi Martin speak on the subject, I believe there are many in power who have actively sold their souls to Satan and even demonically possessed, hence a direct line to the Dark One. It goes on from generation to generation. I think it’s worse now than ever. We have spiritual warfare going on. Very terrifying stuff. God may win out in the end, but how much horror will have to be endured between now and then ?
