NBC's Steve Kornacki: Amazing How Thin Clinton/Trump Margin Is, Despite Trump's Problems
Real Clear Politics ^ | 06/22/2016 | Tim Hains

Posted on 06/22/2016 10:36:27 AM PDT by MaxistheBest

MSNBC host Steve Kornacki discusses the latest 2016 election polls showing Clinton and Trump in a dead heat in several key battleground states with the hosts of NBC's Today Show:

"It’s amazing," Kornacki said. "If you take the 2012 electoral map: Obama versus Romney, and kept it the same... If you can flip Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida, you’re the next president. For all of the trouble [Trump has] had, you’ve got them dead even in Ohio and Pennsylvania. [Polls showing him down in] Florida is bad news for him."

"[We just saw several] great weeks for Hillary Clinton, terrible weeks for Donald Trump -- and they look at those polls in those states, how do they explain that?"

"The poll on the economy, Hillary Clinton gave that speech yesterday, the subject is the economy, she’s trying to discredit Trump on the economy," Kornacki said. "And you look up and see that poll saying --on who do you trust more on the economy-- Trump leading Clinton by eight points. They’re aware of the challenge. That’s where the speeches like you saw yesterday from Hillary Clinton are coming from."

Hillary Clinton goes to a gifted-student primary school in New York to talk about the world. After her talk she offers question time.
One little boy puts up his hand. Hillary asks him what his name is. “Kenneth,” he says.
“And what is your question, Kenneth?” she asks.
“I have three questions,” he says.
“First — whatever happened in Benghazi?
“Second — why would you run for president if you are not capable of handling two e-mail accounts?
“And, third — whatever happened to the missing six billion dollars while you were Secretary of State?”
Just then the bell rings for recess. Hillary informs the kiddies that they will continue after recess.
When they resume Hillary says, “Okay, where were we? Oh, that’s right, question time.
Who has a question?”
A different boy — little Johnny — puts his hand up.
Hillary points to him and asks him what his name is.
“Johnny,” he says.
“And what is your question, Johnny?” she asks.
“I have five questions,” he says.
“First — whatever happened in Benghazi?
“Second — why would you run for president if you are not capable of handling two e-mail accounts?
“Third — whatever happened to the missing six billion dollars while you were Secretary of State?
“Fourth — why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early?
“And, fifth — where’s Kenneth?”

Translation: They’re surprised how thin the margin is, despite how vigorously they’ve tried to cheerlead for Clinton and run 24-7 negative coverage on Trump.

Especially with Hillary’s top-notch campaign apparatus...

Two possible outcomes IMHO:

1) Hillary wins a very tight race on the power of FREE SH*T and the 47%

2) Trump wins by a wider margin than anyone would have expected.

“Florida is a must win.”

Florida’s 29 electoral votes are hard to replace; Trump would have to flip 2 or 3 other states to make up for it. It’s been hard living here and seeing that anti Trump disability ad run everyday, all day for 4 weeks now, with no response from Trump. There is no doubt this has hurt his numbers here.

If there is one state where he should have been spending ad money, it is Florida. He allowed her to get the jump on him here, when he could have countered with an ad about 3 or 4 of the times he has helped out disabled people. The stories are out there and they are real.

I wouldn’t mind it that Trump is talking up his chances in NY, NJ and CA.. but to let Clinton get an 8 point edge in FL makes all the talk look silly. He needs to stop making these costly mistakes; at some point you run out of time to make up for them.

“...Trump needs to up his game...”

Media lies: “Despite Trump’s problems”!! Hillary is the one with BIG problems and they all know it.

Trump supporters must never buy into the leftist propaganda lying theme that Trump has problems and therefore his game is weak.

Trump’s rallies will win more people over than a constant drumbeat of negative political ads all summer that we all hate forced on us. I think most of us turn off negative political ads within seconds and are irritated at the ad, not buying the message. Trump is sincere at his his rallies he proves it. He is not a lying politician so doesn’t come across as one. This resonates with people because most of us still recognize truth when it is delivered to us in person.

Which isn’t to say that Trump ought to have no no ads, he will; but his strategy of taking it right to the people in real time rallies and not wasting money is brilliant!!

Hillary can’t even dream of keeping up because she has no audience!!! hehehe!

I think that we can trust Trump’s game because of the precedent that he has proven his worth and knows what he is doing; just look at all those buildings built and taking out all of those other candidates.

MSNBC sucks always has.
Immediately after Trumps speech today the talking head babe began to defend Clinton from Trumps remarks.
Not report on the remarks, literaly provide a rebuttal.
Is Clinton paying her or MSNBC?

They suck.

I’m sure it’s just me, but when we were in the primary polls, if one of the other candidates were not doing well against Trump, you didn’t hear a poll come out, until they could try to fool us to believe it was an accurate poll, which a lot of the time it wasn’t...

Polls that come out now are the same way in my mind, if it isn’t good for Hillary, there is no poll...that’s why I was shocked that Utah came out with their poll of Trump 7 over Hillary...’Rat’ Romney just left Park City a few days ago, so maybe that’s why...

The old media playbook... Create the buzz/news -— Trump has a bad couple of weeks -— LOL they are out classed by Trump and he will make them look like fools.... I did not vote for Trump in the primary but I sure as hell will in the general.

Amazing how thin the margin is, given Hillary’s criminality.

NBC View in a Nutshell:

Trump had the nerve to make some Politically Incorrect Statements.

Hillary accepted bribes in the tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars and stored Top Secret Documents on her personal server that are now available on the Internet. Lives have probably been lost and careers destroyed as a result.

NBC Concludes: Bad, bad Trump.

"Trump’s problems???????? I do not believe it is Trump that has the ‘problems’..."

Nor do I.....it is the media's way of covering for Mendacious Hillary...trying to make Trump look the same.......

Hillary is just as or more Socialist than Bernie, only she prefers a more dictatorial stance....voting for Hillary is like voting for the Black Plague....you won't know what hit you!

I wouldn’t count on PA because you’ve got Philly and to a lesser extent Pittsburgh, that can manufacture the required votes to win a close race.

For MSNBC, Steve is surprisingly balanced in his rhetoric. He seems to call it how he sees it; I saw him take apart Clinton a few times during the primaries.
