Heh — that’s pretty good. I wonder if he saw it.
The two big conservative magazines have really lost standing with the grass roots since Trump happened. I’ve been sort of amazed at how bad their instincts have turned out to be.
TRUMP wins, in a media black out.
TRUMP wins, unfunded.
TRUMP wins against a coup.
TRUMP just plain wins.
Voters know what is going on.
They don’t like it.
May all the nefarious fall hard.
If it was that manhood-shrinking to the Irrational Refuse, I’m going to YT to find & watch DT’s speech right now...zoom
These guys are starting to piss me off more that the Democrats.
Please, add Lindsay Graham. :)
I've been a subscriber since the early seventies.
But no more!
Conrad Black has been bucking the trend somewhat over there. VDH has a funny ambivalence. His perspective seems to be that Trump is basically correct but is a buffoon.
NR was sometimes worth reading when Daddy ran it.
Boychick has ruined it, however.
We saw a copy on the train station floor and picked it up only to throw it in the garbage where it belongs
YS, you realize this is directed to NR; certainly NOT to you!

Yep. I lived off of National Review and American Spectator in the early to mid 90’s. They were about the only decent sources for conservative commentary at the time. My, how things have changed.
For those who missed it or who don’t remember, this is exactly how the snooty, nose-in-the-air GOP elitists treated Reagan, too. It won’t work this time, either.
Of course, after Reagan’s policies proved wildly successful, they became all palsy-walsy while opining that they “knew it all along.”
Perhaps the new coherency in Trump’s speech will change VDH’s view; and, hopefully, there will be a change in Trump’s positions allowing a convergence with NR’s fundamentals of conservativism (http://www.nationalreview.com/about#378999).
That would be the best outcome, IMHO.
‘So I just stopped by the Corner blog at National Review Online to see their reaction to Trump’s speech today. To my surprise, there wasn’t a single post commenting on it’
That’s how you can tell it was a homerun.
Oh I am shocked! Shocked I tell you!
Ain’t that the truth! I THINK, but am not sure, that American Spectator is still around, and may be OK. It used to be great in the old days, far more down to earth than the NR. In the old days, though, I loved them both. I still admire Buckley’s intellect—what a brain. I used to love watching him just GUT liberals on his tv show. Then, though, he decided to be the arbiter of “acceptable conservatism” and harmed Sobran and Buchanan. That was it for me.

Thats how you can tell it was a homerun.

You got that right! Today I read in two places that even NPR, for crying out loud, said it was “The speech republicans have been waiting to hear for 20 years, and the speech that the democrats have been fearing.”
*** What is National Review? ***
A failing publication with fewer Twitter followers than Milo Yiannopoulos.
This silent treatment by the GOPe towards TRUMP will backfire. Why? Very few read their articles.
