Donald Trump on Tuesday ratcheted up his criticism of President Barack Obama's travel aboard Air Force One to help Hillary Clinton, ripping into the president for his campaign trip to North Carolina at taxpayers' expense.

"Taxpayers are paying a fortune for the use of Air Force One on the campaign trail by President Obama and Crooked Hillary. A total disgrace!" Trump tweeted Tuesday, hours before Clinton and Obama are scheduled to fly from Joint Base Andrews to Charlotte, North Carolina, for their first joint appearance.

is scheduled to address the National Education Association's representative assembly Tuesday morning in Washington before the afternoon event.

Trump first raised the question Monday evening, tweeting, "Why is President Obama allowed to use Air Force One on the campaign trail with Crooked Hillary? She is flying with him tomorrow. Who pays?"

As conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch has uncovered, a typical trip aboard Air Force One costs upwards of $200,000 per hour.

But under guidelines first adopted by the Reagan administration in 1982, and formalized by Congress in 2009, Clinton's campaign — or the Democratic National Committee — would be obligated to reimburse taxpayers for at least some portion of Obama's North Carolina trip, under a formula at the discretion of the White House.

The costs for some staff involved in such political trips, such as Secret Service agents who accompany the president wherever he goes, are always paid by the government.

The great thing about Trump is that he finds a way to go on the attack at the right time. It’s 0bama’s first campaign trip with Clinton, and he highlights the use of our money to finance Clinton’s campaign. So when jugears is talking on TV, everyone people will think “how much did this cost us?” Perfect.

Now to follow up their speech, he can attack 0bama for appearing with a person his DOJ is supposedly investigating, and call the investigation a whitewash.

the campaign reimburses the white house. but I believe they are only charged for comparable tickets on a commercial flight, not the full cost of transportation and security.

That's my understanding.

But then the usual trick is to drop an official function in the trip and write it off.
Meeting with the Mayor to discuss terrorism, off street parking, whatever, and it's an official trip.

Last time I recall him in Raleigh he had a 34 vehicle support motorcade including an EMS truck. Shut all roads even remotely giving access to the airport for miles. Awful.

I have been pissed about how Obama/Biden use Air Force 1 to fly to DEMOCRATIC FUNDRAISERS!

Biden flew to my city a few years ago to attend some DEMORat Party fundraiser at some rich person’s house. I went by the airport and saw a huge C5 transport and Biden’s jet sitting there at taxpayers expense. The C5 was for the armored cars, I presume. The freeway on-ramps were blocked to allow King Biden drive to his destination.

This is all at the expense of the American Taxpayer!! So Biden spent probably $1M to $3Million for travel so he could raise $1M for the DemoRat Party. This is taxpayer theft!!!
