On June 29, 2012, Crowell was arrested on felony weapons charges, possession of a weapon in a school zone and possession of a firearm with an altered identification, and the misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed firearm. Crowell was dismissed from the University of Georgia football team due to his arrest and his constant disciplinary problems- including failing a drug a test.

Crowell enrolled at Alabama State in July 2012.

Professional football, and basketball doesn’t hold my interest and hasn’t for several decades.

The players are mostly negroes and Hispanics with fewer whites each season. To watch them race across the field or floor with their dreadlocks flowering and their heavily tattooed bodies on display is just too much!
