Driving without a license or insurance is a serious thing.

“Would that invalidate his CCW?”

Probably not, but he could have been charged with a misdemeanor. Along with all of his other infractions of the law, the Ramsey County Sheriff could have attempted to pull his permit.

If the Sheriff had pulled his permit, he could have taken it to court. I wonder how much justice he could afford.

The cost of the change of address is $10.

Do you want to revoke the gun permits for everyone that drinks alcohol or gets high on pot?

If you can't purchase one legally, you shouldn't have a permit. See Question 12(e) on form 4473

All permits are statewide in California, and any sheriff can issue one to any state resident, but rarely does a sheriff issue a permit to a resident of another county.

There was a fuss about 20 years ago about the chief of Police in Isleton issuing permits outside of his county, but the AG said it was legit.

Of course he was driving. The video was reversed. We knew this days ago. Get with the program.

Oh yes he was.

In the video, Castile can be seen slumped over in the driver’s seat of the car, covered in blood on his chest, as Reynolds pleads for his life while she narrates into the video the details of what happened. According to NBC News, it was around 9 p.m. when police pulled over the car, which Castile was driving, for having a broken taillight and asked him to identification.

Show us prove that he was driving. Or I can show you prove that he wasn’t driving. You first.

If moving violations are a capital offense in your eyes then I'd hate to hear what your penalty for jaywalking is.

It's up to the jaywalker how things are gonna go when told to get out of the street.
Normal people get out of the street when made aware of their inattentiveness, feeling a little chagrined, then you have your Michael Browns in Ferguson and go for the cop and his gun.

I am re-posting what I posted recently on another dated thread.

The attorney of the officer involved in the shooting who told the media it was the police who have their own audio and VIDEO of this event. If this is in fact true, they’ve had time to review the audio/video 2,000 times. And this is a one shooter investigation which should not be overly complex or difficult. I’d guess they’re dragging their feet here for some reason. I don’t know what the reason would be.

Btw, it was Reynolds attorney who publicly challenged the city/cops to release the video, same as his client did with hers.

Just pure speculation here, but if the officer really thought this was a suspect in an “Armed Robbery” this event should have never happened like it did. And I will tell you why.

Since this was a suspected “Armed Robbery” suspect, this should have been a felony traffic stop, where once the suspect vehicle stops, officers order the vehicle occupants out of the vehicle, one at a time, hands up, walk backwards towards the officers etc, etc. Most have seen the routine on TV many times. This is done for officer safety as well as the vehicle occupants.

I am only saying this based on the existing media reports/video/evidence and comments from the players involved.

Btw, I have actually been attacked personally for simply looking critically at what is being reported so far and offering my thoughts. I personally think they have some real issues here.

Could I be wrong? Yes. But we shall see.

If he was a dope head it is illegal for him to even buy a gun. It is one of the specific questions on the ATF form 4473 question 11 e.

The video clearly shows a distraught officer, almost near tears, making what is called an excited utterance, “I told him not to touch it!”

Meaning, the weapon was exposed at one point or the officer was told that he had a weapon, and the officer gave him instructions not to touch it.

Castile either did or the officer thought he was making a overt move to do so.

The officer’s action will be judge based upon well established case law, Graham v. Conner.

To summarize, was the officer’s action reasonably objective in light of the circumstances known to them at the time and would a similar officer with similar training and experience act in a similar fashion.

A traffic stop is not a mere contact where you are free to leave or ignore instructions from the officer. There is enough sufficient doubt that this officer will never be indicted.

His career is over though, no matter what and the Castile estate is going to get a couple million dollar settlement.

He was NOT pulled aside for having a broken tail light. Where have you people been for the last 48 hours??? He was pulled aside because the cop thought he matched the description of a convenience store robbery suspect. It was the woman in the car who claimed they were taken aside because of a broken tail light. That does not match what was recorded by the police recorder. Even the Guardian acknowledges this!

Karl, this I believe her video could have been taken with a forward looking mode cell camera, which mirrors the video. It’s why it likely appears the deceased is in the passenger seat when in reality he was in the drivers seat.
