A Christian approach in an analogous situation would be to be sad, but not enraged.
Trump could ask a question — how do you folks propose that America could tell the difference between jihadistic and non-jihadistic people both outwardly espousing Islam? Because if that can’t be done, the latter are going to fall under the shadow of the former and be shut out too. If Islam can’t fix its jihadism problem then that is a problem with it, not with us.
