The Veterans of Foreign Wars blasted Donald Trump on Monday for his comments about Ghazala Khan, the mother of a fallen Muslim Army captain, calling the Republican nominee "out of bounds."
“Election year or not, the VFW will not tolerate anyone berating a Gold Star family member for exercising his or her right of speech or expression,” said VFW leader Brian Duffy in a statement.
Story Continued BelowTrump said in his interview with ABC that aired Sunday that Ghazala Khan "wasn't allowed to have anything to say" as her husband, Khizr, criticized the Republican nominee at the Democratic National Convention last week.
“There are certain sacrosanct subjects that no amount of wordsmithing can repair once crossed,” Duffy said in the statement. “Giving one’s life to nation is the greatest sacrifice, followed closely by all Gold Star families, who have a right to make their voices heard.”

I joined the VFW when I returned from Viet Nam but never renewed my membership after the first year.

Brian Duffy, refuses to do his own research. Believes the liberal media. Lashes out at the ONE nominee who will work to fix issues important to veterans.

As of right now, if you have the Vietnam Service Medal and served there anytime from Jul. 4, 1965 - Mar. 8, 1973, you are a Veteran of a Foreign War, and eligible for full VFW membership.

The VFW tells their members that they will be voting for FDR in Nov. by pulling the Democrat lever, .and they will. It’s an adaptation of the Democrats’ Nursing Home Strategy. They will pull out all the stops this year.

If he responds strongly to criticism by the mother and father of a fallen soldier, he isn't going to come out on top. When you're interviewing to become the most powerful leader on earth, there are some people with whom you just have to grit your teeth and be gracious.
I guess there are stories circulating now about the father's connection to the Islamic Brotherhood, who knows what will come out about that.
But to the vast, politically ignorant majority of Americans, Trump lost face, big time. Of course, most of them won't vote anyway...
As a veteran of foreign war(s) myself, I don’t care what the VFW says about Trump. My experience with them is that they are usually drunk and full of BS. Just my $.02. Sorry.
I can’t believe Trump is not at least calling these people out on their hypocrisy with Patricia Smith. This is turning into a disaster for him and he really didn’t say much.
