In theory, if not in practice (for several reasons), all Indians living on recognized reservations are listed in the “Tribal Rolls”. These rolls are often used to provide the US Govt with a list of their tribe members who may be eligible for federal benefits under various treaties and agreements.
That is why frauds like Ward Churchill and Elizabeth Warren couldn’t be found on legitimate lists.
I am assuming that all reservation Indians are given tribal ids (or US Govt ids) so that they can get US Govt materials.
Also, the Tribal Police know who is a member of their tribe and can vouched for them, as well as provide historical and legal documentation about them.
There is no reason why any registered Indian should lack any kind of official id, Tribal or US Govt.
Some judges are just intellectually corrupt.

I've been seeing these arguments for years now. Yet, I'm still waiting for one of these afflicted groups of morons to explain EXACTLY what they mean.
How does presenting a driver's license or other photo ID...that is available for free in most states...burden someone?

No, it means that liberal, democratic lawyers have invaded the reservations and told them that they’re too dumb to have an ID and if they just vote multiple times for the democratic ticket all will be well.
