8/2012 voter registration statistics in Pinellas: D: 226,195 R: 222,731
8/3/2016 voter registration statistics in Pinellas: D: 224,136 R: 224,953
Obama beat Romney 50 to 49 in FL. Obama beat Romney 52 to 47 in Pinellas County, FL.
Interesting info. Thanks for posting.
It would portend a sad telegraph for Hillary.
Hillary won’t get the African turnout Obama did.
and this doesn’t account for the cross-overs in the general election.
thanks
Those stats are very encouraging!
Not exactly earth shattering stats for such a populace county. The Dems lost 2k and Pubbies gained 4k in registrations, so a net 4k. Meh.... I want to see a much bigger net loss for the Dems
Interesting. I detect the Hillary voters not as fired up as Trump voters. Could it be a lot of those 200K dem voters stay home (or vote Trump) while a good portion of those Rep voters will vote.
I mean net gain of 2k for the Pubbies. Not being a crepe hanger here, but we need better numbers.
I believe so. we’ll see if they hold through November. From August 2012 to November 2012 in Pinellas, Dems increased their registration advantage from 3500 to about 8000.
In the last month, Reps have held about a 800 person registration advantage.
Again only one county in one state.
At least for Florida, a little goes a long way. Romney only lost the state by 1%.
Pinellas county has a high percentage of retirees from northern states.
Not exactly correct. In the zip file, by November 2012, Dems had about an 8000 person registration advantage compared to Reps.
Assuming we hold our own from now to November in terms of registration, that 8000 person registration advantage is completely wiped out compared to 2012.
Again one county...but important
Interesting that Obama Win Pct > Dem Registration Pct.
Possibilities:
1. Obama Love > Romney Love
2. Dem Election Fraud> GOP Election Fraud
3. All of the above
Or the indies or others broke more for Obama than Romney.
There were about 140,000 voters listed as “other.”
As of 6/30/16 Pinellas also has 160,000 voters registered with no party affiliation (meaning independent), per the State Gov’t figures. Trump is doing very well with independents.
nice.
Looks like low R turnout hurt Romney in Pinellas.
Low enthusiasm for a nebbish candidate that didn’t appear to be interested in winning.
Compare and contrast with Trump...
I’m thinking that the turnout will be a lot more important than any slight registration difference.
