Who was the biggest mass murderer in the history of the world? Most people probably assume that the answer is Adolf Hitler, architect of the Holocaust. Others might guess Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, who may indeed have managed to kill even more innocent people than Hitler did, many of them as part of a terror famine that likely took more lives than the Holocaust. But both Hitler and Stalin were outdone by Mao Zedong. From 1958 to 1962, his Great Leap Forward policy led to the deaths of up to 45 million people easily making it the biggest episode of mass murder ever recorded.
Just recently, the socialist government of Venezuela imposed forced labor on much of its population. Yet most of the media coverage of this injustice fails to note the connection to socialism, or that the policy has parallels in the history of the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, and other similar regimes. One analysis even claims that the real problem is not so much socialism qua socialism, but rather Venezuelas particular brand of socialism, which fuses bad economic ideas with a distinctive brand of strongman bullying, and is prone to authoritarianism and mismanagement. The author simply ignores the fact that strongman bullying and mismanagement are typical of socialist states around the world. The Scandinavian nations sometimes cited as examples of successful socialism- are not actually socialist at all, because they do not feature government ownership of the means of production, and in many ways have freer markets than most other western nations.

Socialism is always “done wrong.”
They always need “one more try.”
Hillary is catching up....
I had an old Guiness Book of World Records. I may still have it.
It listed the world’s worst murderer as Mao Tse Dong. I think they put the number at 60 million but I would not be surprised if it were much greater.
Margret Sanger
Who was the biggest mass murderer in the history of the world? Mao Zedong?? Ha!
Rachel Carson is the clear winner for that title.
I guess the case could be made that it was Harry Blackmun. Rachel Carson is probably up there too.
Planned Parenthood
**** “Rachel Carson is the clear winner for that title” ****
And she doubles up her “fame” with the amount of suffering inflicted upon those that survive that also vastly eclipses even her closest rival.
BRING BACK DDT!
Sweden is always held up as a successful socialist state.
15% corporate income tax and outrageously high individual taxation. It is a wonder that they have any discretionary income after taxes.
The US Democratic Party (the party of we are for the children) and their friends, the abortion crowd!! No one really knows the true numbers. At least 50 million from those 1780 plus death camps (abortion clinics)and the other pieces of crap!!!!!
They should relabel the Zika Virus the "Rachel Carson Virus".
The DemonicRats have blood on their hands form 60 million abortions not to mention their wars. D&C or DNC they both spell abortion.
A dictator needs people for two things:
1. To serve him/her and provide for him/her.
2. To protect him/her.
Everyone else is expendable.
As a matter of fact, anyone not involved in 1 or 2 could complain or revolt, so they should be killed.
“Queen Hillary declares you to be excess! Bring on the plastic bag!”
Maoists have always had adherents in Central and South America as well as in South and Southeast Asia. Go figure.
A few things for those interested in this topic, but first a couple introductory bits of information.
* My European family was wiped out in the Holocaust in Lemberg/Lvov (Poland/Ukraine), Belzec Concentration Camp and/or Auschwitz.
* I was the creator and co-editor of the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee’s third volume in “The Human Cost of Communism” trilogy, mine being (along with noted scholar, the late David Martin), “The Human Cost of Communism in Vietnam” (1972 (followed by a Hanoi propagandist’s reply testimony “Testimony of D. Gareth Porter, SISS, 1972”, and a counter-rebuttal by noted Vietnam scholar Daniel Teodoru “The Human Cost of Communism in Vietnam, Part II”, 1972.
* I was the only journalist that I know of who testified before Congress (House International Relations Committee, July 1974 and House Armed Services Committee, April, 1975) about the Khmer Rouge and their occupation tactics of societal leveling (based on a Secret report I got declassified, written by then FSO Ken Quinn, later the US Ambassador to Cambodia).
What followed later, “Murder of a Gentle Land” by John Barron and “The Death of Dith Prang or Story Of” (rough title) Stanley Schanberg, came more than 15 years after my original testimonies about Khmer Rouge genocidal plans.
* THe SISS trilogy of “The Human Cost of Communism” series included the first volume, “The Human Cost of Communism in the Soviet Union”, about 1970, Robert Conquest, followed by Prof. Richard Walker’s “The Human Cost of Communism in China”, Summer, 1971.
Privately researched studies on the human cost of the No. Vietnamese conquest of So. Vietnam were written by Jackson-Desbarat in the early 1980’s (two studies) and the major one by famed Italian WW2 Resistance fighter and humanitarian, Ginetta Sagan (Aurora Foundation) about 1986 (dealing with reprisals, mass incarceration, slave labor/death camps, esp. of ARVN officials and soldiers.
The later is now out in a film, “Ride The Thunder” by producer Gerald Boykin (2016).
* Decades later came “The Black Book of Communism” from scholars in France (1990’s) which updated all the human casualty costs of Communism in the 20th Century.
* One early book on Red China about the “workers” was by an author named Guillaume entitled “Blue Ants” (early 50’s if I remember correctly).
You also had famed psychological warfare expert Ed Hunter’s “Brainwashing in Red China” and “The Story of Mary Liu”. Later survivors of “The Great Cultural Revolution” wrote their terrifying stories about the mass murder and cultural destruction under Mao in the 1960’s (which killed millions, esp. of the intellects and cultural class).
Mao, who once enchanted actress Shirley McLean and other “day trippers”, was the world’s greatest practicionners of class warfare and genocide (yet his disciples in the US are today seen at protests against the police in Ferguson, Baltimore, Milwaukee, etc, under the banners and flags of “REV.COM”, the Revolutionary Communist Party of Bob Avakian and their fronts, the VVAW (Vietnam Veterans Against the War in Vietnam (which they took over in 1973), and even members of the old maoist Communist Workers Party of the 70’s/80’s (which included present Rep. Judy Chu (D-CAL) who have joined newer maoist groups.
Communism is the extreme brand of “liberalism and progressivism” with its “true believers”, “useful idiots”, and academic toadies. No cost to humanity is too great to incur on the road to “socialism and progressivism”.
Remember, one of Obama’s top advisors, Anita Dunn, said (I suppose in an honest and sane moment), that the two greatest philosophers she admired were Mother Theresa (a safe bet on a great humanitarian) and Mao Tse-tung, the world’s greatest genocidal maniac and the masterful plagerizer of the great Chinese philosopher Confucius.
I’m glad that this article was written because our professors seem to have deliberately ignored communism’s genocide because it would expose and destroy their own support of Marxist/leftist/progressive/socialist/liberal ideology.
The greatest mass murderer in the history of the world was Rachel Carson.
Zika is going to bring back DDT. Nothing else seems to be working and the desperation will make it an acceptable solution again. It always was when applied properly.
Rommel puts the number at 76.7 million. His numbers are probably as good as anyone’s.

If Zika gets bad enough, it may happen.
