Yeah, threatening people with imprisonment for possessing weed is a real winning issue for lovers of Liberty.

I mean, how dare someone be caught with one of God's own plants?

The Prohibitionist Mind, and the logical somersaults it must do to rationalize such idiocy, is a marvel to behold.

Prohibition of Alcohol worked out real well too, as I recall.

Anyone who supports such Tyranny can hardly call themselves a small-government conservative, because of the expansive state apparatus necessary to enforce such contraband law. And, of course, the no-knock warrants, questionable searches, and general disregard for the 4th Amendment are part and parcel of such misguided dogma.

It's no wonder that the GOP has trouble attracting new membership, what with its selective attitude towards Freedom.

An individual's Pursuit of Happiness is not subject to anyone else's whims. As long as nobody's rights are being infringed upon, adults should be left alone, even if that means there are a few weed smokers in our midst.

The Drug War is Tyrannical; threatening people with long prison sentences is no way to "save them from themselves". That's a rationalization used by authoritarians.

Heck, George Washington grew hemp. Today, for growing the same crop (even though it wouldn't get you "high") he'd be looking at a long prison sentence. It is to laugh.

Nanny-state authoritarians on both sides of the spectrum would have free people choose whose version of Tyranny is the most palatable, as if the lesser of two evils should be the only choices.

Parenthetically, Donald Trump has expressed some libertarian leanings with respect to the phony Drug War in the past, although, of course, in an election year, such nuances completely go out the window in an effort to pander to "Law and Order" zealots.

Vote Trump!

There you go...throwing that L word again. Conservative are all for it...unless of course it’s something they don’t like. In that respect no different from rats...

So why do Freepers ridicule Obama for being a pothead? They should give him some kind of libertarian award instead.
