Not surprised Romney finished ahead of Obama last year.
The positives I still take away are:
1. Trump is slightly outperforming Romney
2. At this time last year, Romney was polling competitively with Obama. This year, the media polls say Trump is getting trounced, but these results suggest that in reality, he may be in at least as good shape as Romney was

I wound up at the Iowa State Fair by accident while doing research om my ancestors. Didn’t realize when I made plans to travel there that the Fair was going on. It was terrific. Butter cow was cool. Iowans atruck me as being liberal, which surprises me given the rural lifestyles of so many.

Might have helped if the story mentioned how accurate a predictor this has been in past elections.... Romney got 55% of the kernels in 2012. Obama edged McCain 51-49% in 2008.
Obama won Iowa both times.
