This is just like so many other liberal ideas. They promise freedom (and/or sin) but the people who get hurt the most are the poor. The rich can usually avoid or mitigate many of the bad side-effects of these bad liberal policies, but poor people often don't have the resources or the habits to restrain them. Meanwhile, Libs will congratulate themselves on their open-mindedness and good intentions, and continue to not see the actual results of their actions.

They’re trying to compete with the millions of government bureaucrats/politicians who are 100% irresponsible and 1000 times more of a problem.

George Orwell, had a lot to say about the poor. I recall that in one of his books he talked about hoe the poor would rather spend a nickel on some candy rather than something healthy like an apple. His reasoning was that people have a need for a little luxury in their lives, and they take it wherever they can find it. Pot is simply some folks candy or sugary drink, the rich have different luxuries.

This is why both parties want more dopes. Get them high, on drug, and then tell them the evil person over there running is taking away your drugs, thus the dopes come out to vote.

Yup. Lots of middle class and upper class people including many here who want to profit from self destructive weaklings. They say, “if we can’t raise them up, we may as well raise our profits off of them.”

Legalized pot is making America’s lower class poorer and less responsible

That's too bad, but at least they're more free.

This is just like so many other liberal ideas.

Liberal ideas? LOL!

Subjecting an individual to prison for possessing the wrong plant is hardly "conservative".

If George Washington were around today, he'd be subjected to life in prison for one of the crops thath he grew, even though it wouldn't even get anyone high.

The Prohibitionist mind, with its absurd "logic", is truly a wonder to behold. The intellectual somersaults that some will perform in order to rationalize Tyranny, are breathtaking.

No thanks. I'll "tolerate" big, scary Freedom, with all of its challenges and inconveniences, before I'll ever adoppt such a submissive attitude towards Contraband Law, and the bloated nanny-state that is necessary to enforce its edicts.

"Big government" conservatism lives...

Vote Trump!

Jeez, what a bunch of stupid arguments for this or against that. How about we all just stay out of other people’s business and quit putting people in jail for nothing more than doing as they please. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away someone said... among these rights are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Or maybe I just dreamed that.

As a general rule, humans are productive while in an environment that promotes and rewards their being productive.

This is the natural, normal-state condition for humans, along with need for rest and relaxation and the twin desire to experience pleasure and avoid pain.

Otoh, excessive self-medication, whether with substance or activity, is more likely a symptom of underlying problems in the environment, rather than being the actual problem itself.

Those responsible for creating these environments that are harmful to the human spirit also like easy scapegoats to blame for their resulting problems.

So, the symptoms become the problems to be treated, while the actual cause goes unaddressed and the problems get worse, creating evermore symptoms requiring more and more solutions.

We're from GovCo and we're here to help.
Rest assured that we're not satisfied till you're not satisfied.
That, you can count on!

I’m sure that lily-white Harvard graduate with absolutely no credentials or background in either cannabis or dealing with poverty knows all about the nation’s poor and what’s good for them.

Spend money on useless stuff: soda, junk food, alcohol, iTunes, pot.....it will make you poorer. And what will you have gained? Brain rot, hangover, obesity.

Republican support for legal marijuana hits a new high (45%-42%)

July 21, 2016

For the first time Republicans narrowly support legalizing marijuana

YouGov's latest research shows that most Americans still support legalization of marijuana, and that support for legalization has increased slightly, from 52% in December 2015 to 55% today. Most of this change is a result of changing attitudes among Republicans. In fact, for the first time, Republicans narrowly tend to support legalization, 45% to 42%.

Epistemological relativism is also a characteristic of the radical socialist left (e.g., equating marijuana with alcohol, cigarettes, etc.).
