You’re reading WAY more into his “my grandmother was tough” remark than I am. I think he’s just commenting that parents used to parent, and now they don’t.
OMG!
Nobody understands what he means. Most of his posts make no sense.
He is a pot stirrer, taking the contrary position on EVERY. SINGLE. ISSUE. I have ever seen him post on.
It’s like he just likes to hear himself talk and cause trouble for the attention.
Read his posting history and you’ll see.
Our legal system is WAY better than most. I know of many countries where when a person goes toe-to-toe with LEO they have to simply leave. Under cover of night.
The US as a whole has a good legal system. For the first thing, you’re innocent until proven guilty. People don’t realize how rare that is on the planet.
The biggest issue is that the poor, who are the major occupiers of the legal system, are hit with fines and deadlines that they simply can’t make. We have to ease up in one way or another.
I mean I no longer make a ton of money. In fact, I make about as much as a Walmart “associate” now. And when my BMW needs brakes I can take a $400 hit. It sucks, but it’s there. But when I get a moving violation it puts me in financial ruin. And if I don’t pay it in a small amount of time, the fines and fees run up very quickly. Ultimately I’m not left with squeaky brakes - I’m left with a short jail sentence. And then work is lost, reputation is shot, I grow my hair and start selling stolen radios out of the back of my truck to feed my family.
It all goes downhill. The court fee system does far more bad than good.
BTW I am a systems analyst with clients in LEO, Courts and Bail. I have designed and built a bail enforcement product that is groundbreaking. I will report to the Magistrate tomorrow with my court / city hall credentials and he’ll say “Hey Steve!” and I’m sure I’ll go scot-free. Then I’ll go to the state representative’s office (Who I also know from the Chamber, civic organizations and municipal projects that I’ve worked on) and he’ll help me out as best he can.
But I always think : What if I was a poor person who didn’t have the gumption to make these sorts of connections ? What if I were a recently divorced single mother with no support team around me ? What if I lost my job, parked my car until I could find another, and needed to not only pay back bills but get my car re-legal with a single or two paychecks ? It’s not possible !
You're right. It wasn't hard to figure out.
I got a laugh out of it too.
Now this is something that I’m trying very hard to phrase correctly with the crew here at FR, and with right-wing folks in general.
I try to explain how people hate the police to people who merely dismiss them as idiots and morons.
The poor only have a problem with police because they lack the ability (Talent, skill, intelligence or simply face-to-face capability) to take their viewpoint to the masses.
They are generally low-IQ people who can’t muster the proper way to deal with issues in a civilized society of .. what... 3 billion people ?
So they take it out on the extended arm of the problem - The boys in blue.
The poor (read: most black people) don’t hate cops for reasons of race. They hate cops because the cop is the one who has to leave the ivory tower and deal with the lumpen proletariat. They are the ones who are shoved into the line of fire - the ones who hit the streets and deal with the unruly, degenerate serfs.
Those people have a problem with the ENTIRE system. They feel that they “can’t” make a better life for themselves because when they get a job at McDonalds, work for 8 weeks to afford a $500 car they’ll only have to work another 8 weeks to afford insurance and plates. When they get pulled over, the situation is worse because the fines easily cost more than the car. And they will get pulled over because they drive shitty cars with parts hanging off and a backseat of people who are turning to them for rides.
But the truth is that it’s very hard for most americans to make it these days. The rules have changed and every generation is faced with problems that are significantly different than the ones from the previous generation.
They aren’t angry at cops. They know the buck doesn’t stop nor start with cops. The cops are the enforcers of the ridiculous and pretzel-logic entrapment fines and fees and SOP from the courts. THAT is the problem.
The cop gets the brunt of the attack because they can’t reach the courts and the lawmakers to affect that change. And it may be because they are too uneducated to properly string the words together to do so. But either way, when they say they are trapped - to them, they believe that.
If you can't make it in this country, you're not going to make it anywhere else.
If you think you can drop out of school, do drugs, work at McDonalds and yet afford an Escalade and a big screen tv - you are seriously lacking in IQ points.
I think you’re right. Every time I’ve talked to him I’ve been left with the feeling that it was just a pointless, circular bunch of random nonsense.
Too bad your name isn't Jose. You could be falling over drunk, driving on the wrong side of the highway, abusing a 12 year old - and you would be home free. Even if you killed someone, drove with no insurance, no license and no registration - NO PROBLEMO!
In many areas, but not mine.
It’s a shame my state is such a vile viper pit because my county is awesome. I love my county.
But you may have seen the Kentucky thread down below - My state of PA has Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in it and I’m sick... we’re all sick ... of those towns making policy and treating us like a leper colony.
The State election maps in 2012 put us blue. The county maps are ALL red except you guessed it - Philly and Pitt. Those two ridiculous towns make the policy by which we have to comply and it’s getting to be too much. This place is little New Jersey these days.
Good luck tomorrow. Maybe something good will happen.
Hey, this IS a good article!
Thanks.
The system will work for me, just as it always does. But I have an IQ and know how to speak to the courts.
There are a lot of people who are just less intelligent, and often because of that are more angry. And angry stupid is why when they get in trouble with the law they throw rocks and burn auto parts stores.
Intelligent and patient is why I take the sheriff out to lunch and we talk shop while I never held a badge in my entire life.
It’s all in the approach and the uneducated tend to lash out and scream incoherently when they feel wronged. The intelligent seek to understand, and be understood.
For many in the world, the LEO/People thing is seen as a racial thing. But it truly is NOT. It’s all about how the under educated view the world around them, and how they lack the ability to form sentences and conversations that help build bridges.
Because Jose would have half the lawyers in the country drooling to take his case.
It’s a system that has long ceased to be about the average citizen. It’s elite police on one hand, and lawyers on the other hand.
Oh, you ought to see what the “educated” look like today. They are some of the worst when it comes to negotiating with one’s fellow man.
How about that I point out things that you do not like to hear? Everyone has an internal censor. Few learn to quiz that censor.
Basically... you lie. I’m understood TOO well... and gainsaid with no real understanding on the part of the gainsayers.

Sometimes I wonder if he’s not borrowing Jedediah’s random word generator when Jedediah isn’t using it to post his crazy, thus saith the Lord, Charismatic caucus threads.
