The illegal Aliens ( aka Boat People ) Are Usually taken to New Guinea where the Australian Government has graciously set up a tent city and Processing center in the Middle of a steaming jungle. the Processing center Is woefully understaffed, so the illegal Aliens languish for Months or Even years until they Are shipped back where they came from.

The illegal Aliens Are able to work within the tent City Cleaning etc so they can earn enough to Pay for Food plus eventual Transportation Back Home.

What do you know…a real government that protects its people. We are always told it can’t be done.

Been there, nice people, great food, sadly its still a socialistic nanny state, no matter how good it is you cannot escape that fact, actually i met quite a few Aussies wishing they COULD escape Oz, go to America, eat junk food, buy guns, buy a big RV, buy cigarettes, basically getting all the vices Oz has outlawed or taxed.

When my daughter visits from Australia on 'holiday', she loads up her luggage with glass jars of jellies, jams, spices,
and anything that has weight so that she can make the airline weight limit for luggage and 'carry on', almost to the ounce.

When she returns to Oz, she has loads of cosmetics, clothing, beauty supplies, and personal hygiene supplies that are very expensive there. Everything is more expensive there as many things that we take for granted have to be imported there (ie. toothpaste, cinnamon gum, etc.).
She recently found an "American Store" in Melbourne, but due to import restrictions and transportation expense cost is almost prohibitive ( ie. Snickers candy bar for $4.50).
The Australian Postal Service is privately owned and run; items of value frequently end up missing 'in transit', and never reach their destination.
American sports sweatshirts and caps are a high value commodity there; last year, she bought a case of LaBatts Blue beer just for the hockey team knit ski cap.

The Southern, Western, and Northern parts of the country is the real Australia. Sydney/Melbourne are tourist traps.

Daniel Ramsey :" ..sadly its still a socialistic nanny state, no matter how good it is you cannot escape that fact..."

Because my daughter has been working in Australia for three or more years, she is covered by their healthcare system.
She recently had medical surgery in the hospital, and everything was covered (surgeon, emergency visit, post-release pain medication, etc.) except for the private room.
Her total expense for the surgery was $260.(Au)for the one overnight in a private room, but she had to schedule the surgery three months in advance.

Worked near Alice Springs a few years in the 80’s ..... loved that barren land as it made you tough or killed you...... harsh environment. Loved it. Locals were at the top of my “” best people I’ve had the pleasure of living around “” short list.....
