Republican vice-presidential nominee Gov. Mike Pence says he and running-mate Donald Trump will release their respective tax returns.
The Indiana governor made the vow during an interview on NBCs Meet the Press scheduled to air Sunday.
Pence said hed release his full returns next week and that Trump would release his following the completion of an IRS audit.
Trump, a wealthy businessman who has been under pressure to release his returns, has repeatedly said he cannot until the audit is complete.
The IRS has said no laws prevents Trump from releasing them.
"Donald Trump and I are both going to release our tax returns," Pence said. "I'll release mine in the next week, and Donald Trump will be releasing his tax returns at the completion of an audit."
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and running-mate Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine last month released their 2015 returns.

Once again, Donald Trump has not changed his position. He will release his tax returns on completion of the audit. Totally up to the IRS.
The IRS has said no laws prevents Trump from releasing them.
...
Journalists are like bleating sheep.
There’s also no law that says he has to release them.
This makes me want to SCREAM!!!!!
“The IRS has said no laws prevents Trump from releasing them.”
Donald Trump isn’t saying some LAW is preventing him from releasing his tax returns.
He says it wouldn’t be prudent. Ask any lawyer, he said, what would their advice be?
It would be to NOT release them until AFTER the audit.
Even Greta said so on her show.
Here’s an aside.... They audit him EVERY year, but THIS year the media pukes (in bed with IRS against Republicans) want those same returns. Trump says FU to the media and makes them wait until AFTER his audits.
How apropos! (a little French lingo there).
Were I in this position, I would tell them all to pound sand. There is no requirement to release them, and the information should be private and confidential.
It ain’t nobody’s bidness how much I tell the IRS I made. And, there is no reason to question any of it, especially once the jackbooted thugs of the IRS have “audited” it.
Tell ‘em to go to Hell, Trump.
This is a mistake. Trump is not going to release his returns, and if Pence releases his then it just highlight’s Trump’s decision. Nothing requires the candidates to release their returns. Neither Pence or Trump should do so and make it clear that the U.S. is not voting for a tax attorney, they’re voting for a leader.
Why?
What’s the point of releasing your Tax returns after the IRS says you are clean? Sounds like it is only for political purposes.
Trump should refuse to release them at any time, explaining that he is not going to participate in the Democrat agenda of getting voters to fight over who is to pay for their bloated government. He could also add that his taxes are his own business as long as he has been honest with IRS.
If there wasn’t an IRS we wouldn’t have to worry about this crap.
But...we continue to let these criminals keep us in slavery.
Have you read the Art of the Deal? Trump, when possible, only takes positions where he wins either way. In this case, if the IRS doesn’t complete the audit, then he can say they haven’t been able to find anything that damages his candidacy. If they complete the audit, then he can say they haven’t been able to find anything that damages his candidacy.
With the audit open, all the MSM can do is carp.
Pence should have said FU and told NBC (Nobody But Clinton) that he will release his tax records when they start pressing Hillary to release her Wall Street speech transcripts, Medical records, and foundation records.
