Yet when one might say I enjoy being around people like me who are white, or I want to be living with my white brothers and sisters, they are effing racists.

From lunch counters demanding integration to safe spaces demanding segregation. I doubt too many students will complain not being forced to bunk with Shartiqua and Quindarius.

We had a dorm floor (small one) that was Veterinary students.

They kept it quiet and studied more than most, as a group.

Kind of fun to watch them dissect their chicken dinner with commentary, at the dining hall.

I think there is a moral distinction between enforcing separation and allowing people to live with whom they choose. While forcing segregation may be unethical, denying the choice may also be unethical.

But when you graduate and go out in the real world, then you have to compete with everyone. The days when AA guaranteed a cushy job at a big corporation are over.

He compares bad decisions he has made in his life to the good decisions made by his young friend: "I always knew what the right path was. Without exception, I knew. But I never took it. You know why? It was too damn hard."

I wonder if this movie was created around this piece of wisdom... It's THAT good...

This is actually good. Why subject a white kid to some minority a-hole with a chip on thier shoulder.

“How did universities that were on the forefront of eliminating segregation become the facilitators of segregated housing?”

It’s simple: if “minority” groups want forced integration, they get it. If they want segregation, they get it.

As far as white people are concerned, it doesn’t matter what they want. If they even bring the subject up rather than capitulate to the demands of other groups, THEY are the ones accused of racism.

A better idea .. . Let them go to their own colleges and Us . . .let them then work only for employers of their “own”

No govt assistance, no “affirmative action” . . Let them be and let’s see how successful they can be without the rest of us

And less interference in our lives without them around

Leftist inspired segregation is apparently fine because they try to spin it as something “noble”.

How much blood has been shed over the decades to overcome segregation? Not enough apparently.

Well, I say, if they want segregation give it to them.

"I'm sorry, this is a 'whites only' dining area."

"I'm sorry son, that drinking fountain is for whites only."

When I was in college the school wouldn’t assign roommates of differing races unless both people specifically asked for each other. I know this because I had a student job in the residential halls.

My wife an I are graduates of the Class of 1974 at the University of Oklahoma. During the early 1970’s blacks self-segregated to their own dorms. The largest was ironically named “Sanger House”!

SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil . . . - Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)

When government attempts to be society, freedom can easily collapse. When society and government are coextensive, freedom does not exist. Then, “everything which is not mandatory is forbidden.”

This is not news to me. Baxk in the early 90s I had a summer with 3 blacl roommates, 2 from historically black colleges in the south, and they were raving about how they wanted separate but equal.
