To die before Obama’s last day in office is just a shame.

Wow. 92. A good long life for a great lady. RIP

The real greatness lies in the fact that she never let a moment go to waste.

She fought for her principles until the end.

God bless, Mrs. S.

I don’t think that happened. I think Jesus just said “You’ve done enough, Phyllis, now come home to My heavenly rest.”

Look at the unflattering picture of her on Wikipedia.

The light of political reality is a little LOT dimmer now.

Schlafly was in a nasty fight with her children over control of her organization, mainly because of her Trump endorsement. Wonder if an autopsy will be performed, including toxicology tests.

Phyllis Schlafly – President, Eagle Forum

Phyllis Schlafly is the author or editor of 20 books on subjects as varied as family and feminism, nuclear strategy, education, child care, phonics textbooks, and the judiciary. Her latest books are The Flipside of Feminism and No Higher Power: Obama’s War on Religious Freedom. She has written her monthly newsletter called The Phyllis Schlafly Report since 1967. Her syndicated column appears in many newspapers and websites, her radio commentaries (now totaling 7,800) are heard daily on 500 stations, her radio talk show is heard weekly on 90 stations, and everything is available on her website www.eagleforum.org.

Mrs. Schlafly is a lawyer and served as a member of the Commission on the Bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution, 1985-1991, appointed by President Reagan. She has testified before more than 50 Congressional and State Legislative committees on constitutional, national security, and family issues.

Mrs. Schlafly is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Washington University/St. Louis, received her J.D. from Washington University Law School, and received her Master’s in Political Science from Harvard University. She received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Washington University. She was named one of the 100 most important women of the 20th century by the Ladies’ Home Journal. The mother of six children, she was the 1992 Illinois Mother of the Year.

Phyllis Schlafly helped to invent the conservative movement in 1964 by selling 3 million copies of her first book A Choice Not An Echo. Then she helped to invent the pro-family movement in the 1970s by bringing thousands of new people into the political process to defeat the so-called Equal Rights Amendment. In a 10-year battle, Phyllis taught the grassroots conservatives how to win despite the opposition of three Presidents, nearly all public officials, 99% of the media, and even Hollywood.

Phyllis Schlafly is America’s most articulate and successful opponent of the radical feminist movement. She has appeared on virtually every national television and radio talk show and has lectured or debated on more than 500 college and university campuses. Mrs. Schlafly is the founder and president of Eagle Forum, a national organization of citizens who participate as volunteers in the public policymaking process.

When the publisher of the St. Louis Globe-Democrat presented her with the Woman of Achievement Award in 1963, he said: “Phyllis Schlafly stands for everything that has made America great and for those things which will keep it that way.”

President Ronald Reagan gave Phyllis Schlafly this tribute at a national meeting in 1984:
“Eagle Forum has set a high standard of volunteer participation in the political and legislative process. . . . You’ve been out front on so many of the most important issues of our time. . . . Your work is an example to all those who would struggle for an America that is prosperous and free.”

I’m hoping she has the ear of God.

Sad news to hear of her passing.

Sure...it is a given. She was a beautiful, strong, self-assured, conservative (thinking) woman.

Excellent stewardship Phyllis Schlafley.

She was pushing the right things until the very end.

God bless her.

Wonder how her daughter feels now, doing what she participated in.

I got to meet Phyllis many times at her Eagle Forum meetings where she invited me to speak. When we revised “A Patriot’s History of the United States,” we gave her expanded coverage and even in “Patriot’s History of the Modern World” we devoted three pages to Schlafley. She was that important.

I am genuinely surprised by her death. I thought she was nearly immortal, but none of us are, as this sad event so graphically shows us.

Thank you Phyllis for all you did to hold the line. Your loss may increase our burden, but we thank you for bearing it so well for so long. I pray we can carry the torch half as well as you.

All I can say is that I will do my best to share the freedoms and advantages to all that conservatism tries to share with all.

I doubt that an ideological squabble like this would move her heirs to that kind of evil. But who knows. This is an odd age. Not a lot of people expected a figure like Donald Trump with such a checkered past of sin and unsavory acquaintances was going to play a part in a moral renewal of the country. But it looks more and more like God has put the pieces in place to write just such a story. Sometimes doctrinaires can get so doctrinaire that they can miss the larger story. We don’t need to try to tout our purity, of which we have precious little if any at this juncture. We need to go on our knees before God and beseech grace and mercy, and then when it is granted, by all means use it for the purposes that God desires.
