The only name I recognized was Adm. Flatley, who was a CAG while I was in back in the Seventies, but...it is kind of irrelevant to me...:)
If they had enough guts to put their name on a letter, that says enough to me.

IIRC, Adm. Flatley was the son of Adm. Flatley of WWII fame, and was also the guy who landed and took off in a C-130 aboard the USS Forrestal!
So he has guts!

It is most likely those on the list are seasoned, competent warriors. By being on the list they have demonstrated they have an acceptable political viewpoint.
And, to further satisfy your standards, I imagine there are even a few that could, or even still can pop 500 pushups. {:^)

There are a few heavy hitters on this list. Only one name I knew personally who shant be named... first class A hole, but a warrior. Several others I knew by reputation, all again warriors.... Tom McInerney, Harley Hughes and “Earthquake” Titus.

Yes, I recognize (and served with) several of the Navy Flag Officers listed.
They are the Real Deal!
